I have been impressed with this site, and am enjoying meeting with everyone here. The forums are great, and the people are knowledgable.

I am a gay Dom in Houston, just now looking into expanding into ownership. I am open to all information and suggestions, as I want to have the BEST results possible.

Is moving from bdsm into full Master and owner the route most owners have followed?

Other than following your instincts, being safe in first (and second) meetings, what conditions have clued others into caution? I don't think I'm paranoid, just aware that I am not as physical as some of the slaves offering their interest.

Hi, although not a Master I would answer your query by saying 'trust your gut'! You should take all the normal precautions but never do anything you feel is wrong. You might want to consider what your reaction would be if put in a physical confrontation and what weapons or techniques would help you. I'm a huge advocate of meeting in huge, expensive hotels for those intimate dates (perhaps not first meetings). Why? They'll be packed full of snobs who would gladly dial 911 for you if you had to scream. If you don't see the logic in this, at least go for a hotel that is jam packed with guests. You can arrange a "wake up call" and even instruct the front desk to keep ringing until you pick up and say OK. More and more there are ones who employee young auditors at night and perhaps you can even clue them into your need for a safe call. Then again, use your friends! There's all this info circulating the net about putting info on your cell phone. Look at it this way, at least you can order them to strip naked and search for hidden weapons ;)

Thanks for the welcome and the information. Other than the Hotel, I think I have followed your advice beforehand

Take care

G,Day and Welcome PrairieMan probably not even consider privace for the first or even the second meeting keep those in a crowed but in many ways secluded restruant or reception area as subversiveone has said most of what should cover your safty with going private.
Not sure how you do things with mobile phones but maybe put in where you are and have it so that if you do'nt cancel it or have a friend ring you at a certain time that what you have in your mobile is sent to them automaticly so they can contact authroities with where you are and such.
But we hope it all goes just as you wish and no trouble at all
