I have 2 thoughts on this.

stock up on coffee.

it is with peril that the US get entagled into  as barak would say 'distraction".  due to our quest of "empire" we play both sides of eveyrthing.  included would be the drug war.  there i said it.  we play both sides of the drug war.

no wonder why the US isnt liked....

Yeh with rupert and the clinton files its pretty hard for anyone to deny we are on both sides at the same time and I will add played against the public.

politicians and the cia bring it in and we go to jail if we get caught using it what a deal eh?

-- the US will have plenty of cheap hard chems- while we are busy in the sand box others have a bumper crop of O, among other things.

the race to NAFTA, and "free trade"  -invites even more "goods" to come in.   and the more potent component, the market economy "demands" these "goods" for its consumption.

The feds unleashed crack in inner city LA....  if I recall correctly to fund some contra  or was it the san danistas?   whatever- to fund a civil war that we   "wanted" so as to build         ''empire"

The urgent part of this is mobs of felons  are soon to be released from prison.

After 8 years in the slammer - I doubt they learned to be emily dickens miss manners.

Please, dont get me started on this. I lived in venezuela for 3 years I have family and friends there. My Fiance was(died) in the Navy there. Our little girl lives there with her grandmother. I still fight to try to get here here with me.  The country is beautiful, the people very nice , But the goverment is corrupt. Chavez is an Ass hole!! He is as bad as Fidel Castro. Trust me I spent many a day sitting watching him on TV in a hawaiin shirt sipping a mai tai he's an idiot. You dont know the county untill you actually live there among the people.

VampCristina there are a few things I know. One is that when someone says "Don't get me started" many times it is because it is a sore spot for them. Maybe you should get it off your chest.

I never got the anti Chavez attitude, nor Castro. What the news tells me and all this could be total bullshit.

Not too long ago I was disappointed with Chavez for refusing to relicinse a TV station, but then I heard what they did. If a TV station in this country did it, they would not have a license either.

It may seem ironic to you, but I do not believe any of their bullshit. If you believe their bullshit you might believe that before we invaded Iraq there was nothing but military bases training Al Quaeda and missiles with nukes pointed straight at us and Israel. Then when we get there, damn where did all these hospitals and schools come from ? Yeah right. I accept nothing they say.

But I would accept the words of a human person. Someone as you said who has lived there. While the neocon's and media's words are always jaded with their slant, you have no vested interest in lying. Your slant on it would be there, but that is understandable. But you have no reason to be dishonest, they do.

Well, if Chavez would just keel over, maybe we could avoid having them in the news.....

We all have a lot to learn, pahunk. And I don't wish ill on anyone either (well, not many). Hell, I don't even wish Chavez to "keel over"..... I'd much prefer the people of his country vote him out, and for him to go, peacefully.
 
I definitley don't want war down there.... Columbia is considered our ally, so if Chavez invaded.....[8|]

Consider the chess moves here, and who are the friends of Chavez, and who are the friends of those friends. Just perhaps there are ulterior motives at work here.

Interesting that he would label his advisary as the Israel of the region. Imagine his actual motives there.

Until this man (Chavez) finds his way into retirement he will be a destabilizing force in this part of the world.
