I always thought I was pretty ambidextrous, but that illusion dried up when I broke my left arm.

Contrary to Mr. Fox's beliefs , I am actually ambidexterous. Not EQUALLY god, but definately passably good on both sides. I eat lefty more often than anything, and I write more comfortably right handed... but I can switch either one if I need to.

As a kid, my sister was amazingly ambidextrous. She'd hold a pen in the left hand, then switch to her right halfway across the page.

President Garfield (I think) could write Latin with one hand while writing Greek with the other.

Maybe because the finer motor control is in the dominant (or more used) hand and it needs to be free for the remote control or mouse?

I am ambidextrous. I can do most things equally well with either. I write more legibly right handed, but I can switch if I need to.

I am mostly left but do things like sweeping, right. When young I tried to teach Myself how to write right handed in case I broke My left arm or wrist. Although slow, I CAN do it.
