I saw an online news article on either MSNBC or CNN (can't remember which) today and thought it was quite interesting. It was revealed in a recent study of over 3000 people that more than half of them had no idea they would experience major changes regarding their sexuality over age 45. In other words, they continued to think their sexual energy levels and abilities (i.e., age 25) would continue until they were much older. I wonder if anyone here has the same self perception and if so, perhaps this thread might enlighten a few. It also makes me wonder about profiles where the Dominant (particularly Dommes) stress they are looking for someone in their 40's or older. I'm not trying to read anything into that but simple wonder if there's any connection. Obviously, older submissive males are a bit easier to keep on the leash than someone much younger with all their hormones running wild. In any case, I feel better having read the article as I experienced and was quite aware of changes taking place in myself around my mid-forties. anthrosub

I hope most people aren't dellusional that way, but that seems to frequently be the case when people gripe about being rejected by others who are decades older or younger, stating age is just a number. I disagree that older submissives are easier to control because they aren't as horny... I would have an easier time dealing with a guy who's hot all the time than I would have one who had years and years of accumulated baggage, IF he doesn't deal effectively with his issues and disposes of them accordingly that they keep him from trusting, being kind/spontaneous, and essentially loving to another. The disclaimer in case anyone is Not taking my words on this thread at face value, is that we all need a lot more common ground outside of the bedroom than we do within, so that sex/sexuality is only as important as the 2 (or more) involved make it. A mature, strong, happy gentleman is a lot more interesting and fun than a horny clueless one. M

I tend to find via seminars and a client base, that it is less to do with age (that does play a part especially in frequency. Quality not quantity theory), but with the general health of the older generation.

I would think your abilities would be better the older you are. why would you want to have sex less, just because you are older? anthro as usual I love your topics but can't totally figure out what you are trying to say. :) PS in other major news two weeks ago a company was formed to develop space colonization (yes I am serious)

I think it makes sense if your sex drive gets lower as you get older. Your weaker and not as fit...

Thus the combined less frequent sex, combinerd with years of experience can in some cases, make for a mind blowing session for both parties. If we are refering to penetration and orgasm that is. On other occasions a smart man who knows his woman can sensitise her so that she is into orgasm with just his touch.

i was reasonably interested in men in my 30's and 40's and definately dated so i could have sex. But at about 47 ~ poof! ~ my poor body turned into a blast furnace. i swear it was hard to drive a car because i was always looking at male drivers. i was celibate, and still am, but the next Man to f**k me is in for a surprise ~ possibly an early death a la Nelson Rockfeller, LOL. pinkpleasures

I've had the privilege and pleasure of involvement with older women and know exactly what you mean. Fortunately for both of us, I was younger at the time and could supply the energy (sigh). My first experience and relationship was with a college sex education teacher who was 15 years older than I was. I know that sounds cliche but it's the truth. Later and throughout the years, I dated women from 5 to 15 years older than I was and have always enjoyed their maturity in contrast with their confident wild streak. At least, that's been my experience. At present, I'm not down and out by a long shot but can no longer spontaneously use "Mr. Happy" as a coat hanger if you know what I mean. But when things get stimulating, everything still works. anthrosub

What happens is you simply lose some degree of spontaneous reaction (hormones). This translates into a "calmer" approach in my experience. In other words, my ears no longer get hot when I see an attractive woman! As to what I'm trying to say, try not to read too much into it. It's kind of like an ink blot test to see what people have to say on the subject. Oh...and I too believe abilities improve with age. anthrosub

Hello anthro. Well, as far as I have ever studied or heard about, is that mens hormonal and sexual desires decrease with age, and women increase - at least until their menopause reaches climax(excuse the pun). This is of course a generalisation - but from experience of people I know this has been the case. I dont believe that abilities improve with age. I believe that abilities depend on how one feels at that moment. Even great practise doesnt help someone who really has no urge to learn. I have known some fine and experienced people who would be considered young by some - who have been fine Masters of their art. Age doesnt always bring maturity. But personailty is a great tool that determines maturity. Peace and Love

Anthro: How fortunate we are all different. There is no formula for the older person, or as I refer to my friends -- people of a certain age. My libido is occasionally ravenous, however, my work colleagues never talk about sex, nor do they flirt. Luncheons are a bore, my eyes wander, they stick to discussing the issues. Could it be that my pleasures are sweeter because I don't search for answers to life's mysteries.

See, IronBear.......once again you make my points. On the Gorean Forum I posit that many find their sexual freedoms later in life (and if we had proudsub here she would find scads of threads on this) and this old martialist now confirms that he has just found out what it is for and gonna use it on someone........I can't wait to figure out what mine is for........ I think with the financial stresses minimizing or at least familiar and the fact that women don't have to worry about childbirth (all these on a very superficial level I warrant) I look like what I look like and I am what I am and those feelings are more comfortable.....Honey? does my ass look fat? And who is FJ Holden? pinkpleasures Sugar cane is cut and taken to the local sugar mill with the leaf rubbish being turned into mulch for the garden and some of the sugar products are converted into metholated spirits and the rest is taken to the rum factory to make rum for us to drink... FH Holden has two senarios. Senario # 1. The Modle FJ Holden car was the first fully designed and locally made Australian car. there are a few still about and are worth a few bob. they never died. I have memories of my first in car bonk in the back seat of my FJ.. The second was in the front seat of a mini minor with feet sticking out the window and the gear shift trying to penitrate her arse. On the rare occasions when I want a beer, I prefer Bud and ideally Bud Lite or Milwalkie Bitter. Just not a beer drinker. Sports? Hooked on kick boxing, NFL and boxing as well as test match cricket and when in the mood NRL especially if the Broncos are playing and of course State of Origin (Rugby League between Queensland & New South wales) Neets is a Cockroach supporter (NSW) and I'm a fanatical Cane Toad (Queensland) Supporter so we have an evening of War....
