There isnt much disagreement that the world is warming....but thats not the debate...

The debate is whether the world is worming because of human activity or whether it is warming due to natural cycles and natural events of the Earth.

I think the alarmists go too far with their predictions based on incomplete data. To say the world is going to be in a crisis by 2050 because of global warming is more of a scare tactic. We have warmed up an average of 0.5 degrees F in the past century on the surface and the atmospheric temperature hasnt warmed any at all in over 20 years. We would have to suffer some sort of massive increase in temperature for Al Gore's prediction to be correct and as of right now, the numbers dont show that kind of increase.
After 2012 we are likely to start decreasing in temperature slightly because the sun will be moving into a more cooler cycle according to NASA's estimates.

And the earth is not static. It does not stay the same. It is going to eventually go into another ice age. It's been doing it in cycles for millions of years like clockwork.

But still We all knew about Global Warming long before Mr. Gore started trying to cram it down our throats. It has been taught since the early 90s, I know I was there. I recall an artical from 1997 about how the Frog population was suffering due to GW. (Global Warming not Bush, though now that I think about it...) I mean really the guy did not desurve an award for telling us old news. He didn't do any of his own research nor did he discover it, there for not deserving a Noble prize. Yeah I watched the movie, thought it lack intelagent expression, not worthy of a Nolbe Prize, or even an Oscar, an Emmey maybe.
I mean what ass gave Gore a million dollars(is the Noble Prize still the same or has it changed?) for regergatating common knowledge. I can't imagine how that guy ever thought he could run a country.

I understand that it is getting warmer, but looking at some of the temps this last winter, if these lows keep occuring, the data will show the temp stablizing or getting a little lower. Has the world ever been colder or hotter? Are the other planets heating up at close to the rate of Earth? How much does mankind actually cause?

Seems to be enough inconclusive data to support either side of this.

I would not believe anyone who was an advisor to Margaret Thatcher as she employed more proven liars than any other Prime Minister I can think of.

However, it all comes down to the math and so far no one has managed to plug the hole in the math without adding the figures for human activity.

When 95% of the world scientists seem to generally agree that human activity is having a detrimental effect on the climate and a couple of mavericks disagree, as a none scientist I tend towards the opinion of the mass of scientists. Apart from that, when I am sitting outside a bar in a tee shirt in february drinking a beer when ten years ago I would be wrapped up and skating on the canals and when the trees are budding and there are insects around, something tells me something is wrong. It is not just me, people all over the world are reporting strange weather patterns, something the original scaremongerings scientists who put forward the idea of climate change, said would happen some 20 years ago.

Now it doesn't seem sensible to me to believe some maverick that it will all go away soon enough if we sit it out, rather than believe all the other scientists that suggest we err on the side of caution and assume it is human activity that is the missing math and we should do something about it. Especially when you look at the despoilation of the planet and our destroying vast areas of important habitat that helps control the climate
