BRATTLEBORO, Vt. - Voters in two Vermont towns approved measures Tuesday calling for the indictment of President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney for what they consider violations of the Constitution.

More symbolic than anything, the items sought to have police arrest Bush and Cheney if they ever visit Brattleboro or nearby Marlboro or to extradite them for prosecution elsewhere — if they're not impeached first.

In Brattleboro, the vote was 2,012-1,795. In Marlboro, which held a town meeting on the issue, it was 43-25 with three abstentions.

Wow, a town with a restraining order against the president!

On a side note, I spent a few days in Brattleboro last Fall.  Very cute place.  Had a nice dinner overlooking the Connecticut River...

But that's not what this thread is about.  Sorry, Level, I hijacked it with my reminiscing on the very first post!!

Sorrrrryyyy....

OK getting it back on topic...Is this unprecidented?  To have a town threaten to arrest the president if he visits?  That's pretty damned ballsy, isn't it?

They should be hunted like the criminals they are. Let them step down from their offices, and then let the fun begin once they have no recourse to executive privileges.

Christmas Eve 2008, GWB will pardon Cheney and everybody who could testify against either of them. He might even try pardoning himself although there is more than a little doubt if that would stand up to constitutional muster even with it stacked with his guys. Although the bad part will be when we start getting hit with economic sanctions for not turning them over on the dozens of international warrants that will be filed against them in the coming years.

I think all of the larger cities and towns should do this. It takes real balls to do that. How awesome that they had the chutzpah to do it.

If these asshats werent so fucking scary a whole lot of us would have already marched on DC with torches and pitch forks on just the freakin gas prices issues little alone all of the other shit.

We are all chicken shit.. and our grandchildren will be ashamed of us.

First time it's happened, as far as I know.

Now.... what did you have for dinner, there on the banks of the Connecticut?

Obviously this town has way too much time on it's hands. They are giving the Berkeley city council a run for their money for biggest morons.

Thats been my point all along.  Interpol already filed an arrest warrant for Rumsfeld, and after February of next year the rest of them get their come-uppance.

Add to that the next steamroller of non Neo-Cons to sweep into Congress and elsewhere, AnencephalyBoy is likely to get a chilly reception when his trailer pulls away from the White House.
