They need to change the rules. Cheating means to break the rules, but you seem to use it so often that your definition is fluid. Fucking cheerleaders for a political party are as much a part of the problem as any of the blowhards on the radio or TV. You fall for the division tactics of your party, and play right along like good little sheep.

I just don`t appreciate douche bags meddling in out primary in such a abusive way.

To use the public airwaves to sabotage our primary is typical of the cheater mindset republicans have.

Calling them lame, lol, would be insulting to lame people.

Bunch of fuck`n losers.

Can`t you guys do anything without cheating?

Air America has been growing steadily and gaining market share steadily.

Uh-huh.  Does Franken still do that bit where he's too distracted by something else to notice that he is on the air?

The problem you are going to run into telling me all about Rush's show is that for a good number years I was in a truck with a radio for 10-14 hours a day.  I've listened to it, along with just about anybody else.  Rush is far and away the most entertaining of the bunch.

Did you actually hear any of those things you referenced?  Do you know how they were sourced?  What was the context?  I remember hearing the 'magic negro' bit in it's entirety.  It was a pretty good shot at both the closet rascism of liberal academia and black "leaders" like Al Sharpton.

Who is fucking cheerleaders? And why would any real man do that? Because they can't deal with real women? Yanno, I see the ads for "drunk college chicks on spring break" or whatever, and they are a complete turn-off for me. Who was it who said about Oakland, "there's no "there" there?" That's how I feel about those 18 year-old suckers. Give 'em some tequila, some GBH, some weed, some Soma, whatever, get 'em fucked up, film them doing shit, and sell it as "girls gone wild". Scum.

Anyways, I dig chicks my own age.

Division tactics for a party. Kinda like "Willie Horton", eh? When the refucks played the race card big time by telling all the Nascar nitwits that Willie Horton and his Hordes of Black Blacks will be descending on your city shortly, riotin' and shootin' the white Po-leeece, and grapin' them young white wimmens.

That what you mean? Or when Karl der Fuck started all that shit about McCain havin' hisself a pickaninny? A little checkerboard baby? What a piece of shit that Rove pig is. Catamite Felcher.

Just so there's no confusion, my reply is directed at that OnionWolf dude.

Limbaugh has the right to say whatever he pleases on air, but we do not have to condone or participate in his immoral and un-American sentiments".

What is immoral about voting that way? Every citizen is entitled to use his or her vote however he or she wishes--that is the essence of democratic process. Sometimes we vote for, sometimes we vote against.

Given that McCain generally polls better against Hillary than Obama, if I were a Republican strategist, keeping Hillary in the game definitely confers strategic advantage on McCain.

Rush's suggestion is merely good tactical politics.

Bold emphasis Mine...

And perhaps, he was commenting on the article?  Not sure that was a personal comment to you, as much as to the fact that you were the one who made the post with the quoted article.  Aren't you being a tad bit sensitive?
But what am I missing here?  I didn't know that political strategies are not supposed to come into play prior to achieving a party's nomination.
At any rate, I never heard Rush say that, although I will take your word and the article's that he did.  But I don't listen to him a tenth as much as you seem to!  [;)]

Zensee -> RE: Rush Limbaugh tells Texas Republicans to vote for Hillary (3/5/2008 12:27:54 AM)

Speaking from the land to the north, I'd just like to say that your process of choosing candidates is the most Byzantine and perverse process imaginable.  Opponents can vote in primaries, Texans can vote twice, it takes two years to select candidates for a four year term, the infighting is as bad or worse than the partisan crap. When is there time and goodwill enough to do a lick of good for the people of the USA?

Up here we scratch our heads and ask, why does it need to be so difficult and how, after all that care and effort, can you still end up with a total airhead like GWB? TWICE?

There is something terribly wrong with your primary system. I say that out of concern, as one might address a person so damaged by their dysfunctional behaviour they are unaware they are ill. If this is the democracy you want to export to the rest of the world, please fix it first.

It's all rigged to present a pre-determined result.

Agreed. Our system is asinine.

orfunboi -> RE: Rush Limbaugh tells Texas Republicans to vote for Hillary (3/5/2008 5:01:34 AM)

This is nothing new and not something the republicans came up with. Both parties have been doing it for years. I remember the first time I ever heard the idea was from a democrat who wanted me to vote republican in the primary.

This year I heard the democrats wanted us to vote McCain and all the logic that went with it. Of course the republicans didn't have to worry about it because in Michigan, Clinton was the only name on the democrat side.

You just don't get it do you? It's really quite simple....

If the democrats do it...it's good politics

If the republicans do it....it's cheating

If Rush suggests it....it's cheating and his show sucks.

My favorite part of this thread is all the people who claim to despise Rush, can still quote things from his show. So do they actually spend 3 hrs a day listening to someone they despise or are they just parroting bs they have heard from someone else?

What about people that don't think it's cheating (like me), but still think his show sucks (also like me)? [;)]

I once listed to the show for a solid week, at the suggestion of a poster here, and have listened to it in the car a few times since. Like many of these shows, of either political slant, it loses me when it paints one-hundred million voters on one side or the other, with the broad brush of "Liberals feel x."

Come now, that's just idiotic, no matter the party affiliation of the person that says it. If you issue polled just ten liberals or conservatives, you would get differing positions ... what would make anyone think they could speak lock-step for any opposing political group? Case in point ... this very issue. Some of the liberals here are outraged by Republicans voting for Senator Clinton. I consider myself a liberal, and see absolutely nothing wrong with it.

The problem with these shows, is they take something as serious and important to our nations political system, and debase it to the point where people listen in to see or hear what slam will come next. You know, political humor as entertainment is fine, and we all enjoy a good laugh ... but we also see it for what it is. These shows attempt to be taken serously, when all they really are is a platform for extreme, and many times outragous viewpoints.

Let me do some education for you. Cheerleading is when someone roots for just one party, no matter what. Where they just make accusations against the other party, and ignore any wrong doing in their party. This goes for Republicans and Democrats.

Yeah that is what I mean as well as the "Let's get all the rich people." "Look at all the secret racism in whitey." "Let's go against anyone that is Christian, because they believe in fairy tales." or any other type of comment from one party cheerleader or another.

Just so there is no confusion my comments are directed at that "dropped too much cid in my younger days" dude.

Excellent points but we in the US just love our drama. We love it so much we export it sometimes.

The sheep here love drama and games. This is why the politicians create so much.

Mercnbeth -> RE: Rush Limbaugh tells Texas Republicans to vote for Hillary (3/5/2008 6:41:01 AM)

How little faith it must require to believe that Rush Limbaugh, a drug addicted, fired minor league sportscaster, impacts you or your party. He's a caricature and has no relevance except to those with weak minds unable and unwilling to have an independent thought. It's like getting emotionally involved with CM threads!

There are enough 'ditto heads' on both sides of the aisle to cancel each other out; who read only from the 'bible' of their views, who need to have their way be the one true way. Rush is a corporate flunky. He knows that resources being spent in the primary can't be used again in the general election. Winning the Democratic party nomination will now require more money. To get it both Senator Clinton and Senator Obama will have to solicit it from large PAC contributors. The battle will be hard fought and bloody. A bad thing is that the convention is late, August 25-28, leaving only three months of campaigning directly against Senator McCain, the poster child of corporate politics in the USA. Whoever wins, Senator McCain will have all the negative ads from the Democratic nomination loser as a starting point for his attack. The viewers of these ads will be the same ones people here are giving Russ Limbaugh influence credit. It doesn't speak well of the Democratic chances for victory.

I'm confident of one thing - A status quo Corporate victory in November.

MissSCD -> RE: Rush Limbaugh tells Texas Republicans to vote for Hillary (3/5/2008 6:59:10 AM)

I am in South Carolina.   I have been here all my life with the exception of my military service in Colorado which was a blast.  This entire state always goes republican because of the Rich Conservative Christian moral background.
What people are not seeing yet is that McCain is a liberal Democrat hiding under the Bush name.  This war needs to stop with a timeline.

Regards, MissSCD

I guess it's OK for the Democrats to cross over and vote for McCain though, right? That's what they did in Michigan and South Carolina.

What's that saying? "Payback's a bitch?"
