Goodness, i am PMSing...sorry to sound so condescending in the first post. Let me see if i can be a bit more helpful and a bit less pissy. When it comes to this lifestyle, at least so far, it is unlikely that you will find a BAD book...so if the idea of asking here was to get peoples opinions...rather than just find out the options, it may not be as crucial as it might be if you were looking for say, a yoga manual. The national community has done a great job of only promoting those authors that know what they are doing! Now, i am sure if you really tried you could find a bad one, but stick to what is easy to find and you are probably good. However, i understand that you want a easy to follow instruction manual, rather than say, a photo book like "Occupied" by Lochai. (A truly excellent coffe table book...if you happen to have a kinky coffee table.) I am going to recommend Jay Wiseman again...and i will tell you why. I travel all over the nation and attend many events. There is no bigger egghead out there than Jay! He is detailed and specific. Excellent for beginners. Books are great...i am a writer, so i read 10 times as much as i write...but there is nothing better than hands on. So, on the note of learning, since that is what you seek...i highly recommend you attend and event and take some classes. All the presenters (that i have seen) that are presenting on a national level are excellent. Lochai is my personal favorite because we are friends and because he is very hands on. He passes out rope, helps people tie each other up...not just, "see, watch me...now you go home and try." Sometimes, not always, Midori can be like that...show you a lot of very cool and hot stuff, get everyone all excited, but then, after you've fucked, and got your head back on straight, you can't remember a thing about how to do what she did. Anyway, hope that helps, and sorry for the tude.
