Getting feets beaten is the yuck. Beating feets is way better. I'd look for something light and whippy-ish so I could whap at will without being overly concerned about wee small bones and nerves and all that. So. Very thin rattan would work. Big honkin' bamboo? Maybe wanna wait a bit.

PanthersMom -> RE: foot caning (3/5/2008 5:11:37 PM)

yeah, go easy on the feet, remember they need to be used quite often, like each one every other step.  just the thought makes me queasy, but then i have nerve damage for other reasons.  i just know how bad it can suck!

Foot caning can be either very sensual or very harsh. When caning someone I like to start off soft and gradually increase the intesitiy.  Personally I like acrylic canes.

personally i like a thin whippy metal cane for bastinado - the most amount of pain for the least amount of damage...a thin acrylic will work if a metal cane is not available...

Dear thegreg, Ladies and Gentlemen;

For me personally, I am a traditionalist.  I prefer using the rattan cane for Bastinado.  I do like to use the thinner diameter and one that has a lot of flex to it.

I use the straight on technique, such as in the American Style; as well as tipping.

Offered for consideration; in addition to caning the foot dry, it can be interesting by having the foot wet with water.  The cane will not suffer for the exposure to water however, it is interesting sensation to do the Bastinado when the foot is well soaked in water then removed.  In addition, one can add some body lotion type muscle relaxing chemical application, like Icy Hot, Ben Gay, Absorbine Junior and then cane.  However, I would wrap suran wrap around the rattan cane, which will not retard the affects of the cane, yet prevents the chemical fluids from being soaked into the rattan cane, regardless if finished or raw.  With man-made cane products, such as acrylic, metal, aluminum arrow shafts, carbon arrow shafts, delrin and or other products, can be easily cleaned and sanitized.

Other clever ideas I've used personally in the past, is having an individual have uncooked rice, bird seed filled socks on and then cane.  That adds a different sensation.  I have also caressed the foot with silk, rabbit fur pelts and awakened the skin and create sensitivity and then immediately administer the cane to the feet.  I have dripped water one drop at a time on the toes and letting the water cascade over the foot, has created it's own torture--even though it isn't caning.

Just some thoughts.

Respectfully submitted for consideration,
Lady Hugs

I like a wooden dowel for bastinado. Like a great foot massage. Unfortunately I've got a couple of foot problems so he has decreed no more whapping my feet. Sigh!

LadyHugs -> RE: foot caning (3/6/2008 2:41:42 PM)

Dear thegreg, Ladies and Gentlemen;

It does not have to be a harsh 'thrashing' of the foot in order to do Bastinado.  The Inquisition Torture's Bastinado was meant to break bones and cripple someone.  However, much of what the Torturers of the Inquisition period have been muted a lot.  In todays application, I prefer using accu-pressure and or hitting targeted nerve bundles--rather than just hit and miss and hope for a reaction.  Large items, you cannot miss--much like a shotgun affect.  However, using a fine rattan cane is like using a .22 cal that must be extremely accurate as to hit the specific targeted area.

If you bump your elbow or ankle bone just right, which isn't always a lot of force--just right/correct angle and spot--you suffer correct?  Well, for me--to tip apply the right spot is much the same.  Twiddling a No. 2 writing pencil with an eraser on a desk--that is all the pressure I need to apply with.  To add more exclaimation, I just increase the speed.

I used to practice on grapes then graduate to peas, as far as target practice.  If I smashed either one--I was too harsh.  If I split the grape/pea--it was just fine.  Then I used to put a small nail into a vice and then cane--just to improve on accuracy.

When I started to cane on bigger objects--I used peaches and other thin skin fruits.  I also took some talcum powder/baby powder and coat the cane before the stroke.  I knew where the cane hit once I had sent it.

This can be done on people as well.  Put a layer of baby powder/talcum powder on the person's beehind and then apply one stroke.  The cane will displace the layer of powder and leave a mark where you hit.  This can be done on balloons, basketballs, soccer balls and--fruit cake, angle cake.

More on caning can be read at www.cane-iac.com on their home page -- They have caning tips there with illustrations.  In addition, their products are reasonably priced and those who have purchased from this supplier--have been most pleased.

Just some thoughts.

Thanks for the posts LadyHugs...as well as the website.

What a great article...there!

Your a rare one, indeed...

LadyHugs -> RE: foot caning (3/8/2008 4:08:56 PM)

Dear ThundersCry,

I do thank you for your kind thoughts and comments.

I consider myself honored to have an opportunity to share my knowledge and skills to those who seek information.

I am always thrilled personally, when someone can take what is written and or demonstrated and tweeked as to become their own personal technique in the root styles, as to give great varieties of sensations as to provide freshness in any/all scenes that may come about.

Respectfully,

Lady Hugs

persephonee -> RE: foot caning (2/25/2009 3:22:30 AM)

LadyHugs...i have got to say....Yer mean!!!...which is perse speak for, snuggle up a bit closer! *blinkblink*

Actually, since i hadnt really researched the topic, your posts and link were extremely welcomed. i just had my soles done in a scene last week and wish now that i hadnt been so intensely paranoid about it so i could have paid more attention to the technique and whatnot...it went well, but, as others have said, i have to use my feet...and was convinced that i would be all bruised up...which, didnt happen at all.

So thank you for that!...Altho, if i want to see the technique up close, i think ill convince someone else to be the one gettin it...wow! things were stinging in a whole new way that night!

Just a suggestion but........perhaps if you focused more on meeting people and less on a person that is a delivery system for a foot whipping, you might have better luck.

SassySarijane -> RE: foot caning (2/25/2009 6:18:02 AM)

*grins* I love bastinado with all kinds of things used........there's this one little whip thing.......yummmm............anyway I digress........just because I love having it done to my feet does not mean I want or will allow just anyone to do it.

I'm with LaT. If this is what you are solely focused on it is no wonder you still haven't found someone. People want to be seen as people not demo dummies and life supports for particular kinks and fetishes for someone.

Andalusite -> RE: foot caning (2/26/2009 7:24:11 PM)

I like medium-weight, thuddy canes but used more lightly, so as not to risk broken bones. It makes my brain completely shut up, and is very meditative.
