"More FBI privacy violations confirmed"

By LARA JAKES JORDAN, Associated Press Writer

" WASHINGTON - The FBI acknowledged Wednesday it improperly accessed Americans' telephone records, credit reports and Internet traffic in 2006, the fourth straight year of privacy abuses resulting from investigations aimed at tracking terrorists and spies.

The breach occurred before the FBI enacted broad new reforms in March 2007 to prevent future lapses, FBI Director Robert Mueller said. And it was caused, in part, by banks, telecommunication companies and other private businesses giving the FBI more personal client data than was requested. "

I hear the FBI and NSA are hiring High-Tech types.

If interested in applying, call your Mom and tell her of your interest.

They'll hear, and will get back to you about your application.

the FBI does some good work.

cutting to the chase is  --well better then not.     no one wants the terrorists to score.

the powers  tho have no idea 1984.   same crowd assumes hillary will use this power  benevolently, [recall the vast right wing conspiracy]
-so I can picture the same ppl cheerleading for wire tap- to be bellyaching on it- the minute it is used for polititics- and it will be.

I think people are stupid by nature.

Everywhere I go I joke aboutr how the fbi and nsa can turn peoples cell phones on and listen any time the like.    Do you know what the typical response is?  Especially from the younger crowd?

"well I dont have nothing to hide"

Reminds me of Mike Judges movie.  IDIOCRACY

Have a friend that while in college he learned everything he could about Unix. He became part of a national group called the Legion of Doom. After gaining his trophy of switching the seating charts at the Democratic National Convention one year, he was tracked and given a Federal vacation for a year, and supervision for 4 more. After the supervision he was approached by several large corps, two of which are communication corps. He has been making a good living doing what he does, and last year he was offered a job by the Feds in exchange for clearing his record. He then went on a "medical leave" from his job for three months and moved to a different city. He still works for that telecommunication company but only speaks to his friends in person and will not even make jokes about any of it, or anything that could be misunderstood. He just does his job, and keeps his head down.

The Feds already have too much power, and abuse it. Can you imagine what will happen once they can control all of our "medical" treatment?

It's well established that blackhats make the best whitehats, that's why they always try to turn us.

But, generally all they get is a giant [sm=sodoff.gif]

I am more worried about the Feds finding out some of our "secret recipes" for bar-b-que sauce!

well I think the moral of the story is that they are breaking the law.  when you or I break the law we go to jail as the government does not forgive us.  when the government breaks the law we just forgive them or make excuses for them eh?

We're already doomed.

Smile, and enjoy those little moments.
