Has this ever happened to anyone? You get a message but once you open it says this profile no longer exists. What gives?

i've had this happen on several occasions. from later emails which are strangely similar, i'm figuring people close and open new accounts or else they might have disabled their profile. some may also have this feature showing when working on a new profile, or alternatively, may have just decided to longer have a profile. one of those, i think.

Oh, the missing profile thingy. I had that experience. He was a cheater. I outed him. Then he returned with another profile. Gotta be sneaky when you cheat and know people in the lifestyle.

sweetpettjenny -> RE: No profile? (9/24/2005 5:46:46 AM)

could be they found someone and left, or they are sneaky and made up a new name ...could be many things

TSMUK -> RE: No profile? (9/24/2005 6:18:30 AM)

tarnishedhalo777 -> RE: No profile? (9/24/2005 8:31:57 AM)

mine states not active or some such message. It is b/c I am not seeking anything but answers and learning at this point.Should I meet a special someone and connect well,it'll be based on their liking what I say on the boards not b/c I'm out hunting, lol.anyway,i think I can still write to people and they can answer me back but I can't be searched....ie personal ad kind of thing.

KatyLied -> RE: No profile? (9/24/2005 9:04:29 AM)

Since we are talking about bizarre things. Sometimes when I click on an picture (from the forum, so I can go to the profile and read), it sends me to a different member. What is up with that?

(edited for example)

example: tarnishedhalo777 takes me a different profile everytime I click the picture.

When you click on the avatar of a user without a profile, it just dumps you back at the main Collarme.com page.

I had a man contact me almost every other day, under a new name. He would send an e-mail and then immediately delete his CM account. Sometimes he would include his yahoo address, which was the identifier to know it was the same man, and also, each of his CM names included the same numbers, with a slight variation on the main name.

I contacted Support about it, and they gave their advice on how to handle it. I also started to check profiles "before" opening an e-mail. If no profile exsists, I just delete the e-mail without opening it.

The way I figure it, if someone is contacting me, via viewing my own profile, then they should have the courtesy to have one also.

RainGod -> RE: No profile? (9/24/2005 10:45:11 AM)

Here is another possible explaination I can share through personal experience. I was talking to a girl sometime back who was simply tired of being flooded with email after email. Apparantly, the girls on here get more email than guys... go figure.

Anyway, she would come online and activate her profile long enough to email Me and then deactivate it again. I know someone mentioned some people do this in order to cheat and play head games, but she was straight up and I know she was honest. She just didn't want any other emails.

WHATS HAPPENING ON HERE,WE ARE ALL EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS.HOW DO WE KNOW IF OUR MESSAGES ARE GOING TO THE RIGHT PERSON WHEN WE ARE E MAILING THEM.

Awakener -> RE: No profile? (9/25/2005 7:56:25 PM)

Many of the problems may be due to firewalls, or being behind NAT. I would say post these questions in the Support forum but does not appear to be one.

ModeratorThree -> RE: No profile? (9/26/2005 5:29:08 AM)

The support area is on the bottom of the main page, it says "Support", click there and send a message.

Actually it isn't taking you to any profile, it is taking you to the home page. Home page shuffles random profiles based on your search preferences.

Sekhemet -> RE: No profile? (9/27/2005 12:47:19 PM)

An inactive profile will show as no profiles found, even though the person is here. You don't need to activate the profile to send or receive mail. But not everyone with a profile turned off is out to play games.

I know when I turn Mine off it's because I'm focusing on someone in particular, and they can respond to My mail but others don't see Me, thus I need not sort through the piles of aimless hello's for what I am looking for. I'm sure I'm not alone in this pattern - Also if I want to edit the profile or make changes to it I also do this when I have it down so I'm not waiting for it to be visible. When I want it there, its ready to go as I want it to be.

I think for some of the notes I get however these are people newly exploring and afraid, shy or shocked at what they're doing or saying. Fear hits them, and they pull the profile. Is it games? For some, yes - for others no I don't think so. But every person and every situation is different.
Just a thought or two, I figured I might add. Thanks for the opportunity to contribute.
