As someone who has had some of this done on him, I can assure you to go for it, its an awesome intense feeling for the sub and told terribly erotic for the Domme. I would certainly want to do a lot more of this with any future Domme.

This is why Sodium Hypochlorite is considered in the surgical world as a germicide and not a true sterilant because the exposure time is unrealistic -- especially where metals are concerned. And while I agree that for the most part, this is a matter of semantics, we are responsible for the information that we put out there to be as correct as possible where newcomers and novices intercept this and take what we say to be gospel.

It's how a physician initially tries releasing a urethral stricture caused by UTIs. There is generally more of a concern for infection because of the shorter nature of the female urethra connecting to the bladder (shy of 3 inches on most women.)

I agree. And no matter what we put out there, each will interpret it differently and also add/remove their own biases and/or knowledge and experience. And, as taught to me, and found proven to be effective over years of experience, bleach water is an acceptable form of cleaning, disinfecting, and/or sterilizing sounds. Whatever you want to call it. I do appreciate your added information and agree that autoclaving IS the MOST desired form of cleansing, however, not as practical for most. And even then, nothing is for sure. An autoclave must be checked and maintained regularly to insure it's functioning properly each and every time. I think the most accurate thing we can put out there is that nothing is 100% safe. Everyone should recognize there is a risk factor in just about everything we do. They should weigh the pros and cons. Do their own research. Be informed as possible, and be as safe as possible. That's as good as it can get.

see darch, that's how it all starts...one minute your legs are tightly crossed and then you begin to go "hmmm,perhaps......" you randy boy you! rook felt the same way about sounds after having experienced them for some not so fun medical procedures. All I kept hearing from men was that they were an awesome experience- like being "stroked" from the inside. Your instruments should be CLEANED with hot soapy water. After they are clean and dry, then you sterilize them. Using heat sterilization (autoclave is a pressurized steaming device that is used to achieve high sterility levels for medical equipment) is the most common method I can think of. I don't know that I would think an autoclave necessary for sounds if the instruments are only to be used on one individual. One could also look into the old fashion method of boiling water as a means to steralize, but as the water won't reach the same temperatures as an autoclave, it can't be expected to be as effective against some potential infectious substances. If the sounds are used only on one person, and you have no need to worry about possible infectious contamination from a medical condition, then scrub it with hot soap and water, dry, and I'd say just do an alcohol swab or use the bleach and water. I'd note to not sterilize with bleach and water immediately before use. The idea of bleach residue + the urethra makes me shudder. Urethra play, whether using sounds or catheters or whatever else is out there, is definitely an enjoyable thing if done properly. Scary sure, but if caution and care are used there's no need to fear.

Okay, I have to know. . . How many of you Ladies actually own an autoclave? Every time sterilization of something comes up as a topic, the autoclave gets mentioned. Last place I saw one of those was in my lab in college. So seriously, how many of you actually have one?

Hummmmmmmmmm sounds, yummy. I have been sounding/dilating my male submissives for many years. There is actually a difference between sounds and dilators, though it appears within our community, they are referred to as sounds. I personally use a quatricide to sterilize my sounds 15 minutes before use and sterile lube, both on the sound and a small amount injected into the urethra using a sterile syringe without a needle. The "target" area is cleaned with soap and water and then alcohol wipes and I wear sterile gloves. I also insure that the person I am working with drinks plenty of water both before during and after the sounding. This almost always guarantees a good strong stream after we are done, without pain. Sounds can be a great mind-fuck, especially for new submissives (to watch), I have seen them tremble in the corner while I am showing their dominant how to sound on my own submissives. Doing a search under kinky medical supplies, you will find quite a few places, which carry these wonderful devices of mental torment. I would also recommend finding someone with knowledge in this area before jumping into a scene as many things can go wrong if not prepared for ahead of time.
