Hi, I'm in the middle of setting up another site, this one will be selling only buttplugs and anal toys.  I realised that I should be also offering a selection of lube, but I don't want to just list every lube on the market, I want to list the ones that people could recommend with toys of this type.

Any recommendations please?

Durex Play is simple and to the point, but Liquid Silk is cool.

We seem to the sell more of these brands than anything else...

Wet Platinum - a close 2nd
Pjur Eros - my personal favorite for all things slippery
Gun Oil - rising in popularity with gay men and in general as more stores pick up the line
Boy Butter - their new black densatizing label is popular but I don't recommend it for safety's sake, besides I want to feel whats being done to me

I have to agree that the top sellers in my store were Eros, Wet Plat, and ID Glide.  The leather shop in the bar that recently closed went through alot of Gun Oil, Boy Butter (women work better with the H2O based) and Slam Dunk. I also had alot of special requests for Elbow Grease and Probe Light in a pump from the girls.  A top seller at Toys in Babeland is Sliquid -- the flavored varieties are glycerin and paraben-free and sweetened with aspartame so there's no issues with sugars in the naughty bits.

I am not sure if it is available over there, but in Australia there is a natural lube called 'Sylk' it is based on the kiwifruit vine, paraben free and in my experience gives the least irritation and is fantastic with pyrex (glass) and steel toys. It is a bit expensive though.

Thank you!  I really appreciate your advice.

I can get hold of some of the ones mentioned, so I will start with them.  I can't find the one you suggested Shelly but I might be able to find one similar so I will keep looking.

I'd have to recommend lubes like:

Wet Platinum   
Eros Bodyglide 
Pjur Cult

I've recently discovered a lube that works really well on latex...it's a silicone lube by a company called Swiss Navy.  It's thin like a water-based lube, but holds up really well and works great as a dressing aid for latex!

For myself.. and non anal toys.. I use nothing but Maximus since I discovered  it.. I was an ID person for a long time, but now I love Maximus...

How about good ol Crisco?  Best for those hard to fit objects and its cheap too!

Oil-based products are NOT a smart idea for things that are latex.  Crisco and other lubes that are oil-based are not condom compatible.

Silicone lube is the best for most uses.  This includes Pjur Eros, Gun Oil, and a few others.  Interestingly, Metis Black, owner of Tantus, argues that silicone lube CAN be used with high-density silicone toys.  My own experiments support this.

Problem is, some of the best anal toys are electrical.  And silicone is completely non-conductive.  So there need to be water-based lubes if you're planning to offer electrical toys -- and you need to sell electrical anal toys, cuz they're the bestest.

Also, you'll want some Anal-Ease or something like it, to desensitize the sphincter.

Well, we've only had 9 kinds so far, but ID Glide has come out WAAAY on top.
