Does anyone know of any research, or documented medical play that involved someone going into subspace while being monitored by Electroencephalograph?

I tried Google, but it wasn't much help. Seems like something that would have been done by now. Homemade EEGs only cost a few hundred bucks to build.

Is it just me, or is the idea of a Dom/me being able to see into your mind just sexxay as hell.

That is a Very Interesting Question. A/anyone happening upon something in the wway of an answer please let us all know.
Hell YEAH, it's sexy. Primal in a way.

Assuming you could enter space with electrodes attached. "No, no, don't jump when the whip touches you, you pulled out another electrode".

That would be an issue. Some type of restraints may be desireable. I doubt that would be a problem though.[;)]

One thing that would be absolutely out of the question would be any kind of electrical play, as the electrodes electrically ground the subject's brain, and any voltage applied would result in a considerable amount of current flowing through the brain. I would even go so far as to rule out any electrical toys, even battery powerd ones.

Also, I'm not sure but I think the sub's head would have to be shaved.

Very little research has been done in the kink area...slightly more has been done is the sexual. It's hard to get funding for such things in this country.

Try looking up pain research, non-ordinary reality type research and what sexual research you can find. Google Scholar might be a place to start.

Gee, why not? You can get funding to research or study all kinds of stupid stuff.

Like the insurance companies spending all that money to learn that if we keep people healthy then we don't have to spend so much money curing them. (Duh)

I seriously doubt many "legitimate" research organizations are going to be willing to hook up an EEG to someone while their girlfriend pounds their ass with a 10" strapon. or even inflict serious non-sexual pain on someone for research purposes.

I really think that if this is going to get done, it will have to be done by private individuals.

There has been some serious clinical research on how people process pain. I wouldn't think it would be entirely impossible for an enterprising academic psychologist to get funding for an EEG study comparing pain responses in masochists and non-masochists, although the level of pain would probably have to be fairly mild - and of course, this wouldn't directly address the question of subspace.

On the whole, I think a private individual could indeed do it better. The EEG could be seamlessly incorporated into some kind of medical scene, too. "Just hold still while the evil nurses shave your head..."
