kittinSol -> RE: French women more into sex than French men (3/8/2008 8:47:31 PM)

Seriously now, the article (it's in The Telegraph , a notoriously conservative, even reactionnary newspaper, but it's a rehash of a "dossier" published in Le Nouvel Observateur - a neo liberal weekly) is up in arms about the supposedly newly found sexual assertiveness of French women: quote:
French women are becoming increasingly assertive in their sexual habits, while one-in-five younger French men "has no interest in sex", according to one of the most comprehensive surveys of the nation's love lives. Oh no! [sm=hair.gif] Women taking charge of their own sexuality: so frightening... BOOH! Further on, the article states: quote:
The good old dichotomy (male predators, females patiently awaiting the warrior's return in front of the cave entrance) is in big trouble WTF rofl??? Where do these stupid statements come from? Why do journalists insult our cave dwelling ancestors like that? For as long as I have known them (ie. all my life), women in France are as sure of themselves sexually as their male peers, and even more so than their counterparts from other nationalities... sexuality is ingrained in French culture, where there's far fewer taboos than in puritanistic America. It's not surprising news: what I did notice, however, was that there was a huge picture of Carla Bruni as an illustration for the article... terrifying Carla, the "mangeuse d'hommes" who married Sarkozy a month or so ago... She's the excuse for that rag... it's all quite sad.
