Leave it up to the Democratic party to disenfranchise millions of voters...

The DNC leaders have pretty much made up their mind that they want to allow Michigan and Florida to re-vote, they are only fighting over money. So now many wealthy Democrats have started to come on and say they pledge some money to help pay for the elections. Even James Carville says he can line up fundraisers to get it paid for.

But hold the phone....Obama says he's against allowing the two states to hold another primary....

Why is he against it? Because they are two big states. And Hillary will more than likely win those two states and could even give her the lead in delegates. But Obama needs to be careful. He risks alienating two very critical swing states in the event he wins the nomination. Essentially Obama is telling Florida and Michigan that he doesnt want to hear their voices.....until November.

Reminds me of dictators in 3rd world countries....if you are a dictator and public opinion is against you, you just simply dont allow the election to go forward.

If Obama really favored democracy, he would support allowing the voters of Florida and Michigan a voice in this election. These two states hold a combined 44 electoral votes in the general election. That is more than any other state other than California.

Some support the idea of "you made your bed, now lie in it".

When the air traffic controllers violated the rules of their contract, Ronald Reagan fired them.  Now you advocate an amnesty of sorts for Michigan and Florida, there is no consequence?

That is the more typical amnesty granting, lawless republicanism that we are trying to get shed of.

Still doesnt close the wound...

There will be a lot of pissed off people in Florida at the Democratic party. They are likely to vote McCain or Nader.

If the Dems lose Florida, they must win Ohio and keep Michigan. Otherwise it will be a very, very tight electoral tally. Remember, the popular vote is meaningless in November.

At this point, the Obama campaign is the only ones against this. And the reason why is not to preserve archaic rules that WILL be changed after this election....it's because he's become elitist and power hungry...and he wants to win.

I agree, it won't close any wounds, but letting them "do it until they get it right", ala the Year of the Hanging Chad, would open other wounds.

Angry or not, I can't see many Dems not voting for whoever the nominee is..... not this year.

Not at all true, right off the bat, I am against it, and me and Obama are not the only ones by a damn sight.  Do you really think Obama is singlehandedly stemming the tide of this 'groundswell'?

You give him too much credit.

You Dems remind me of the New England Patriots. You go undefeated for so long and get so many people on the bandwagon and you think you have the Super Bowl in the bag..........then whoops....you trip and fall on your face.

On the contrary, I think McCain has a decent shot at winning, no matter who the Democrats put against him. Even if Nader wasn't running, I'd feel that way.

I love Obama. I want to have his baby.  The sky will open!

seriously now.    do you think the wealthy 1% the ruling 1%  wants us all to "get along"?

do you want the robber barrons to keep taking the food off of YOUR kitchen table?

thats what this is about.
