Tonight my local group, BESS, hosted an Exploratorium and cash-auction for Katrina support. The Exploratorium featured demonstrations and mini-tutorials on all various sorts of types of play and was a huge success with tons of new people coming out. The auction featured a variety of people (myself included) getting auctioned off to have fun scenes with new people.
The auction raised over $300, which will be matched by BR group for a total donation of over $600 to be donated.
It was also great seeing the handful of people from collarme, CinnaKitten and Plantlady among them.
So thanks to all, and it made me very proud to see what our local group can do. Remember THIS event next time someone makes a derisive comment about how sucky the scene is today.
