So about an hour ago I got a taste for a specific drink (Elements brand Fire) that is hard to come by. I needed to stop by a store I knew didnt carry it, so I stopped by the gas station that used to carry it near there and they had discontinued it. So on the way home I stopped by another gas station that used to carry it, only to find that they discontinued it too. Now I am ill. I have one more shot that I have to drive 3 miles one way out of the way for, but now its an obsession. I get there to discover that they are going through the last few that they have and they dont have the flavor I wanted, I ended up with Subzero.

several of this kind of thing has happened... Surge. several TV serieses (serei?) the Kindred, Futurama, Family guy (a corrected mistake) the 4400, metalocalypse and several others...

what else has been lost to those of us with taste?

Grr, that happens to me all the time with food... The most recent one that comes to mind is Arizona Iced Tea Diet drink mix... indistinguishable from the regular stuff (thanks to Splenda), and it was gone from the market in less than a year. Bastards found out i liked it

... and don't get me started, lipstick, stockings, bras, knickers, shampoos, moisturisers,  ... just when you find one that you like and is affordable, it either ceases being made, or another company buys that company, and then the 'improve' it, and the search starts again

ok ok i need a life, or rather a dom ...

Why is it that we MOST feel sorry for ourselves in regards to food? I genuienly believe this is true,

The first time i remember feeling sorry for myself I must have been about 6 i was just able to reach the counter in the kitchena dn had discovered a badg of sweets, I took one and wandered off feeling very good that i wasnt being greedy, I went back and took another, proper proud of myself, I dont know how long this went on but I got to a stage where it wa sa bit of a habit and each time the excitement of walking to get it got bigger, then i got there and mum had moved the bag, gosh the feeling of self pity was HUGE i cant even describe it and ive never felt anything like it sinse (i mean seriously i shouldnt be able to remember it)

Its the same with other people, i remember once  my dad dropped the top of his bap from his burger and i nearly cried. lol or maybe i just have an unhealty relationship with food

Why not contact the manufacturer and ask them where you can purchase it from?  If nothing else you can purchase it from them?

Well said!  I used to 'argue" w the powers that be to gain my thing- but these days- who knows. I like choco  pecan cooffee-being deleted.

my advice try a surplus outlet- try ebay. try another market-   i knew someone who drove form LA to vegas for a case of hairspray.    i would not have but she did

This thread makes me grateful I was able to figure out how to match the flavor and aroma of my favorite vanilla chai tea before it too was discontinued.  Now, I just make my own and save about $3.00 a cup.

Jeans. I have a hard to fit body and every time I find a brand of jeans that fit, they change it on me. I purchased the size 6 I normally buy and have purchased for 3 years, only to find that they have "re-done their sizing". Umm, a size 6 now fits like a size 10 aka I need suspenders to wear the suckers.

I am now on the hunt for a better pair of jeans.

Chocolate is one of the worst. They don't ship chocolate in the summertime, so what I am supposed to do when it's 102 outside, and I'm going to die if I don't get the chocolate I am craving? (I special order it because it is not sold locally)

Lately I have been craving Key Lime pie due to two recent trips to Key West. It is $65 to have a key lime pie overnighted, I know, I priced it. I did the math, it's almost cheaper to fly back to Key West to go eat pie in person. Guess where I am going again in April? *grin*

Totally with you on the Elements brand Fire. That stuff is GOOOD!
The 4400 dropping into nowhere pissed me off too..

Turkey Hill Orange Tea is my craving that's wicked hard to find.

Have you ever seen "Harold & Kumar go to White Castle"... it ponders deeply this very subject...
