I've decided to try a little spirt cleansing. My life seems very built around sex and sexual release lately, and I think it's time to de-tox. So I've decided that I'm going to cut of all sexual stimulation. My penis is on forced vacation, and hopefully it will feel better when it comes back. Now I'm not worried about day to day life, I can out an out refuse any type of advance. Yes I have control of my cock in public. It's when I don't go out, or I'm not busy with my mind on something more stimulating that worries me. It's like green day said.. "bite my lip and close my eyes". Some times you need a reminder about why your doing what your doing. Now that I've bored you with the back story, I'd like an opinion. Would it be pratical for me to purchase a chastity device for around the house use? I don't think it has to be very advance.. more just a reminder that I'm trying to do something for my own good. Also if anyone has any suggestions for a good device please let me know. Comfortable, light, and realitively cheap was the way of my thinking. I plan on short term use, and only part of the day.

More like I"m worried that when I've gone for a while without. I"m calling full stop for a while.. and I'm not sure how I'm going to react. It's called planning for the unexpected. And btw Miss Magnolia.. thank you for those wonderful words of advice... they were quite helpful and productive, and I'm sure they served a very positive purpose today.

You know the best way to get someone with a food addiction to think about food? Put them on a diet. Work to balance your life, not go from one extreme to another. Unless, you really DO have an additction. In that case, get therapy. Master Fire

Hello, I don't know anything about Chastity Belts.. I have done Self Chastity before. I set a minimun time limit for myself of 1 year. I'm not advising to do something so extreme.. It was a drastic change for me.. and thats what I really needed. I had a few tough moments..but made it through it. I wish you, Good Luck! Shadows

Personally i dont think wanking is bad for anyone and there aint a way in hell id stop myself but i cant help saying dont you have any self restraint man? I mean you are gonna have the capacity to get rid of it as its self imposed, i dont think a chastisty device makes a differance, if you are that compulsive you'll just take it off surely

Thinking of easy and cheap.... how about ribbon? tie it firmly around the member when it is soft, perhaps tying it down to another part of the body (torso or a leg). If done firmly enough, the ribbon would hurt when you begin to get hard. The fact that it isn't um... flopping around freely... might also serve as a reminder. (think shibari) Another idea i had was to buy briefs or boxer briefs that are too small so they would constrict. Another reminder, if you will. The thing is, no matter what you buy/use it will be your willpower and self-discipline that makes it work. If you invest in a chastity device, it will be those things that will keep you from taking it off since you put it on yourself. Be aware also that putting on the device might make you more interested in self-pleasure, not less, by concentrating your attention on that area of the body. Sort of the way that knowing you are not allowed to cum makes you hotter and more ready to do so (true for me, anyway). The forbidden fruit effect, you know. Hope this helps. g

I'm not good at knitting. I can only make small things, like the shibari wooly I used last winter to keep my penis chaste....... uh....... I mean...... I'm not good at knitting because I can only make REALLY BIG THINGS! I'm going to watch some sports now.

If I were in your position and had the money to spend, I'd probably go for buying a chastity belt. I think it would be fun to try, however, if you want to play with yourself bad enough, who's stopping you from taking the chastity belt off? It still requires a lot of self control.

Ahhh. and just like any post. Half the people have useful advice, and the other half have nothing but judgements and problems. Well I won't explain myself to the haters except to say this. I am a sexually active man. A couple weeks without sex could really play hell on me. So now I said that. Except it, or just shove off, because you don't have anything useful to say. Everyone else... Thank you all for the help. I doubt this will be an unobtainable task, and hopfully I'll get my head straight. No I don't plan on people taking bets over it, or walking into work with a giant hard on that I didn't notice. Sometimes someone can get so caught up in something, that they lose sight of what it's really about. I think sex has become that something.. but last time I looked, sex was just about sex (and I know thats wrong).. So I'll have my little reminder for at home, and I can hold my own when I'm out and about, and hopfully in another month or two (probably closer to 1 month) I'll have a little bit more of a focus on things. *looks around, sees it IS still a public forum. What we were saying is that if you have SELF chastity you can TAKE IT OFF therefore you still need restraint I am a sexually active female (does gender make a differance?) And i can cope without playing with myself everytime there is nothing good on the telly

I've done the self chastity thing. Didn't need a device or article of clothing, just the desire to do something I felt was right for me at the time. I think the part that people (including myself) are not understanding is, why the need for a physcial item that you can and will remove at will? You only need the will, not the device. Otherwise you will just remove what gets in your way.

If you seek to change something about yourself, only real conviction and determination can do that. de-toxing from too much sex is one thing, but if you for some reason feel bad about rubbing out your morning-wood each day, you should consider that your self-image isn't quite realistic. You are a male. You have a penis. You wank. If your self pleasuring is interfering with everyday routines or things you want to accomplish, then yea change it, it's an issue. If you are simply looking for a little spiritual broadening and enlightenment, go read some books on trantric practices and theory. All in all, it boils down to the same, YOU want to change yourself, so only your own conviction can do that, a device isn't going to change you.

I've heard of people hanging pictures of their past skinny self on the fridge as a reminder to eat healthy. How is this any different?
