Here is a mail I received from a user on this site (purportedly a drop-dead gorgeous 23-year-old single nymphette living in Johannesburg) - the fifth one I've recieved in two years: heelo.my name is X.im an honest respectable young girl ho wnts a man to take care of me.come to casablanca for weekend an i show you a good time.i want too emigrate to your areaan make you happy.mail me today Gee, I wonder why 'her' photo looked like it had been pinched from the on-line portfolio of a modelling agency? And while I'm looking closely, I wonder why the grammar and syntax scan like those of a native African who speaks English as a second language... And if I didn't know better, I'd swear that Casablanca was in Morocco... is that why 'she' wants to 'emigrate to my area?' Quite an effort, considering that if 'she' were in Johannesburg, she'd be no further than 60 kilometres away from me. And she wants to emigrate to "make me happy"? Golly gee, how altruistic. What a saint! What's next? 'She' bats her eyelashes very sweetly (via text, of course), and asks me wire her US$5 000 for 'her' plane ticket and expenses (not to mention for my own good?) In order not to subject this miserable miscreant to a torrent of abuse, I've withheld the relevant username... but perhaps I shouldn't have. Is there any way to get 419-scammers off this site for good before they start to cause even more harm and disillusionment? Or is it just best to ignore them full stop and go on one's merry way? I ask because there seem to be a dozen such profiles with similar text in my 'matches'... all delicious-looking, all with similarly-compiled usernames, all written with the same level of illiteracy and all hinting in some way that financial "assistance" would be required... I know there's a button that allows you to report solicitous or abusive messages, but after one profile has been deleted, what's to prevent a scammer returning under a different user name? Wait a minute... here's a thought. How 'bout I go all moony and say Yes, I'm dying for you to take care of me... meet me at such-and-such?... Only such-and-such would be harbouring six of my closest friends, armed with baseball bats and bad attitudes...

they are a great deal of fun, tell old 'mustapha' that you must have naked pictures, so that you may inspect her ass, her vagina and so on, and that there will be no 5000 forthcoming (but that you are dying to pay it) until she can provide you with an hiv negative declaration, describe your large cock, your immense wealth, all the nasty things she will be required to do, all that sort of shit....... Yeah, they are pretty clueless and don't have much of a scam. Ron

Mmmm I just get scammers from Michigan. I wonder if the Mods can list them in the Ohio section.

isnt michigan in ohio? Kinda like accra is in south dakota or aiken south carolina? I dont understand how you can be 25 pounds and have that zoftig bootie that some of them have, must be the sub saharan diet....anybody????

ahh.my best speeding tix have been in Ohio- where the town is a shopping mall. on 419- you cant escape them. be glad they havent shown up real life at your door.

Hey, Ron... :) Kewl idea, man. I'll keep that in mind for the next one to come my way... OmegaG, you speed-freak, you... >:) why not visit us here in the RSA sometime? Over Xmas, I took my bike between Port Elizabeth and Durban (about 600 miles) at an average of 90 mph, getting up to 140 mph in places. Didn't get a single ticket, and didn't see blue lights in my mirrors. Not once. :) Living in a country which IS for all intents and purposes lawless DOES have it's perks... pahunkboy: They HAVE shown up at my front door. In this neighbourhood, they wear expensive suits and have actually got a veneer of respectability... they're called Jehovah's Witnesses. :s Instead of trying to sell you a non-existent opportunity to get laid, they try to sell you salvation. To be frank, I don't know which is worse...

Karma shmarma, if the scammers are wasting time on scambaiters, they can't victimize the gullible. Even better if they suffer losses in the process :D

hey now! I love living in Michigan! (though I don't like snow and the ecomony sucks!) Who'd want to live in Ohio? lol. (I think that every place has good and cool things about it.) Anus computer counterscam?? I am going to google that, looks amusing. The best one I read, (pity I don't remember the site.) is on a website dedicated to Barney Fife. someone claiming to be a lady wrote to the WM of the site,saying she and her now deceased hubby had converted from Muslim to Christianity. The funny part, is that the WM wrote back saying he was a worshipper of Barneyism. heh.
