This poor bloke...

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Leaders of the U.S. Episcopal Church were told once and for all on Monday that the gay man they elevated to bishop will not be allowed to attend a top, once-a-decade worldwide Anglican church meeting this summer.
"It feels as if, instead of leaving the 99 sheep in search of the one, my chief pastor and shepherd, the Archbishop of Canterbury (Rowan Williams), has cut me out of the herd," said Bishop Gene Robinson of New Hampshire, after receiving the definitive word that he will be excluded from the Anglican Communion's Lambeth Conference in England.

~ Basicaly he can be in the basic common areas the public can be in ( Big freakin whoop! Oh how kind of you all do I curtsey or bow?) But he can have *No* say or basic contact with the others... he might give them cooties.

Plus.... http://www.reuters.com/article/blogBurst/domestic?type=domesticNews&w1=B7ovpm21IaDoL40ZFnNfGe&w2=B9IYAiV6g03xWUXstkq1JR&src=blogBurst_domesticNews&bbPostId=BF0kTw0jp2CpCz2fURHSiThbsB9DLM9i9ir92B9QptooLoBVh&bbParentWidgetId=B9IYAiV6g03xWUXstkq1JR

Kenya decided to boycott it all together since there even is a gay Bishop. We all know how open and welcoming the African nations are to Gays in general. ( By that I mean they are shot in the streets.)

Oh Evolve people!

A church is a church.   They can self rule.  There are churches that are accepting-rather then fight this one- I simply would move on to one where I was welcomed.

*chuckles at Lady E.*

So Sad... I hope God slaps them all really hard when he sees em.  I can hear it now " You Sodding bunch of wankers! What did I say about Love one annother and He who is with out sin cast the first stone! What the hell were you thinking!"

I am amazed the Good Bishop has his faith in that church still with all of thier blantant hatred of him. This is just the newest round of it. He would be sooooooo welcomed at my church it isnt even funny. Hell he could get married and have a husband in my church as far as we are concerned.

Bloody wankers.

As someone who was christened inthe Episcopal church, I was THRILLED when they elevated him to Bishop... and horribly ashamed when all this hatred came out over it.

So on behalf of those of us who GET IT...  I apologize for the dumbass wankers who call themselves Episcopalians and behave is such an abhorrent manner.

The Gay bishop apparently did not read Deuteronomy.

Faery, exactly.

Hey, he could switch over to the Catholic church, they're loaded with homosexual preists.
That sucks, I mean the guy is a Bishop!
You'd think they'd welcome him.

Cherry picking the bible is soooo damn popular.

I try to stick with the "biggies"

Love Thy Neighbor
He who is with out sin cast the first stone.

ya know all of the huggy lovey stuff my idea of God is. Not the mean one who hates us all and we are all damned and going to hell one.

Just how I am.

Psalm 118:1-8; 14-17
[from The New Century Psalter (Cleveland: The Pilgrim Press, 1999) 162-63.
   Used by permission.]

   O give thanks to God, for God is good;
       God’s steadfast love endures forever!
   Let all Israel say,
      “God’s steadfast love endures forever.”
Let those who fear God say,
       “God’s steadfast love endures forever.”
Out of my distress I called on God,
who answered me and set me in a broad place.
With God on my side I do not fear.
What can mortals do to me?
God is on my side to help me:
I shall look in triumph on those who hate me.
It is better to take refuge in God
than to put confidence in mortals.

   God is my strength and my might;
       God has become my salvation.
There are glad songs of victory in the tents of the righteous:
       “The strong hand of God does valiantly;
       the mighty hand of god is exalted;
the strong hand of God does valiantly.”
I shall not die, but I shall live,
and recount the deeds of God.

I take my refuge in God.. not in men who use his name to hate me.

Good post, Gwyn.

My beliefs now consist of a fair amount of Buddhism, and I don't know what you'd call it, a belief that we all have God in us, we're all a piece of God... that God is love, and compassion, and truth, and courage. Any time you see those things, you're witnessing God. Any time you bring them into the world, you are literally manifesting God.

-fast response-

Now I'm one of those who gives a shit what you do with your willy kinda guys, but I'm curious about something.

Does it seem hypocritical to have a mind to force someone to accept you while your not accepting them?

I'm for no laws governing who can get fucked, married, buried or carried by or to who.  It has to do with personal liberty. I'm not a fan of to many laws.

I do think that people should be careful about over exposure though. Why is it that you never see someone with a nice ass wearing those assless chaps?

Gwynvyd -> RE: U.S. gay bishop not welcome at meeting by the Anglicans (3/11/2008 6:45:35 PM)

I believe in a bit of everything.... I think it all has "truth" in it... I just weed out the stuff that doesnt feel right to me.

I was Rasied mainly Catholic.. but my mum let me attend any services I wanted. She would go along and learn with me. I loved her for that.

My main bits are Hindu/Buddhist/Christian/Rumistic ( if that is a word) and every thing else mashed in.

I found a song that reflected basicaly how I feel about Father ( God)  It is called "Everything" by Lifehouse. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyheJ480LYA

These are the lyrics.

Find me here
And speak to me
I want to feel you
I need to hear you
You are the light
That's leading me to the place
Where I find peace again

You are the strength
That keeps me walking
You are the hope
That keeps me trusting
You are the light to my soul
You are my purpose
You're everything

And how can I stand here with you
And not be moved by you
Would you tell me how could it be
Any better than this

You calm the storms
And you give me rest
You hold me in your hands
You won't let me fall
You still my heart
When you take my breath away
Would you take me in take me deeper now

And how can I stand here with you
And not be moved by you
Would you tell me how could it be
Any better than this

And how can I stand here with you
And not be moved by you
Would you tell me how could it be
Any better than this

Cause you're all I want
You're all I need
You're everything, everything
You're all I want
You're all I need
You're everything, everything
You're all I want
You're all I need
You're everything, everything
You're all I want
You're all I need
Everything, everything

And how can I stand here with you
And not be moved by you
Would you tell me how could it be
Any better than this
And how can I stand here with you
And not be moved by you
Would you tell me how could it be
Any better any better than this
And how can I stand here with you
And not be moved by you
Would you tell me how could it be
Any better than this
Would you tell me how could it be
Any better than this It always brings me to tears. *smiles* but in a *good* way.   Gwyn

Usualy when it comes to churches I say leave them be.. if they want to be in the dark ages let them..

The unfortunate thing is so many people do look for a spiritual home and get this sort of thing from thier faiths. It is so sad.

Just as I didnt think bans on Innerracial marriage were right I do not think bans on gays getting married at all are right. When your "feelings" and Prejudice trumps someone elses civil liberties thats where it gets sticky.

Not every one has rights yet.. not every one realizes that nor cares. they have thiers so it is all good. No more laws need to be made.

They will not be held out side of the hospital room thier partner of 30+ years is dying of cancer in because they have "no right" to be in there because they are not married or blood realitive. They can Marry and Adopt the child of thier partner... they can be treated fairly under tax laws. When they die thier estates will go to whom they chose. Not the State, or family they did not intend it to go to.

I am all for over exposure ( even if it takes assless chaps ~ Oh Boys!) so that those who do not face these things will understand we are not just a bunch of whiners.. there are issues that effect us that are taken for granted because they are a matter of course for them in society.

I have had a nurse tell my girl to leave when my son went to the ER. She was not his "Real Mother" You shoulda seen my ass go Amazon on her. It is one of the HRC stories ( I will not post the link because it has my personal info in it. )

See that is why if I had a time machine (ok one of the man reasons) I would go back and Betch slap King James.

The man had issues.

His father was a Boy bugger.. and has issues with the local Lords being pissed off about it. To calm them down he had to write loads of Smack about buggery. Thus lead to the current issues of today.

It also was translate Suffer not a witch to live.. the origional was "posioner" as in someone who tells lies and posions the community.

Good info on the Bible in general. http://www.bibleufo.com/anomchurch3.htm

Poor bloke? I am sure he knew what he was in for when he made it all public. I personally think they should just split from the main, since the majority of the other organizations do not like it.
