Criminals have developed a sophisticated phishing scam that allows them to duplicate secure websites, once thought to be foolproof, by issuing themselves their own security certificates and using SSL websites. Please read this link and educate yourself on what is going on so that Y/you do not fall victim to this scam.

this is indeed a risk, but on a larger note.........

There is no lock that can be devised that cannot be picked...........

Those wishing to respond to this thread will provide a non-sequential prime (and random) number of at least 11 digits.........

I've found that it's useful to check -where- each URL links to. For example, I get fake paypal e-mails all the time that link me to sites that look -exactly- like paypal.

hoewver, the URL is always al ittle bit off. Also, the linkn for submitting your information is -always- wrong, and not what paypal uses. Not fullproof but a way to check.

I should add that Internet Explorer 7 actively checks out suspected phishing websites while you surf, which is a neat feature. I have the browser (Beta 1) and it is really quite good. However it is no substitute for using education and common sense, right?
