I just received a message on here asking where I'm from and when I tried to respond, it said user has blocked you, message not sent. This was someone with a new profile I had never talked to before. Why would a Dom contact a sub or switch, ask her a question, then block her so she can't respond? I think someone forgot to take his meds. Anyone ever had a similar experience?

Yeah, pretty much.  I've even gone to look at a profile five minutes after getting a message, and it's no longer a valid profile.  I just chalk it up to standrad stupidity, and get on with my day.

The only time it annoys the crap out of me is if it's an abusive email from some random twit I've never heard of, and they block me before I can reply in kind.

There's a simple explaination that doesn't involve a purposeful act.... the person meant to click 'add to favorites' but didn't pay attention to where the mouse was hovering.  Happens more often when viewing the full profile where there are just check boxes instead of the buttons but it happens.  The poor dolt probably wonders why he never got a response....when in fact he'd clicked the 'block' button by mistake.  But no matter, he or she will be here later next week complaining that he/she sends emails but doesn't get any replies.

dbg you mean after being on CM for years that this hasn't happened to you and that you don't understand why/how this could happen?Um I bet if you searched you would find dozens of threads asking why a profile blocks/disappears etc. If I sound harsh.. sorry. It just amazes me that this would be a 'new' concept to you. ~camille who has no access to coffee this morning. (but knows why)

i think they are quite amusing, even the rude ones, i mean if a Dom (so called) wants to waste, time, effort & finger power typing a message to me then woohoo for them... i dont block them, nor do i answer them i just read, giggle at their childishness & move on with my day. if you let someone/ANYone get to you with verbal disfavour on this site then i reckon you are in for a bumpy ride here. LOL

Let it slide & ignore em.

Maybe he saw the cute little butt  pic you have up, wanted to tap that ass, wondered where you were from, THEN read your profile and realized the ass wasn't your's.

Disclaimer : I have no idea if that ass is your's, if that is what happened, or if that was the reason he blocked you. But it makes as much sense as what he did, lol.

I've had this happen a couple of times over the years, but I've also found on some sites that this isn't even a real profile or person, or it's just a kid's equivalent to a prank call.  Annoying...

I agree that in that case, I would have assumed it was an accidental click type thing. That, or, go with OldBasterdly's idea.
I have never bothered to block anyone. I have gotten letters from Doms I've never met telling me how unattractive I am, poking fun at my 'likes and dislikes', ect, ect. Like blissy said, if they want to spend the time, more power to them. I guess if my inbox was staying full enough for that to be an issue, I might block a few, but, really, I just don't give a hairy rat's ass. I just laugh, roll my eyes and move one.
I have, not here on collarme, but, over the years, gotten into fascinating discussions with people I would not have expected that from. Years ago I had a correspondence of a few months with an active member of the MBLA, debating why what they advocate doing (which none of them, of course, actually DO), was different than abuse. He did not exactly have a valid point, but it was interesting to hear what such a person thinks, and to have that debate. See, that could never ever happen to me in real life, because if you admitted to me that you had loving, intimate, sexual relations with your next door neighbor's 8 year old son, and I know who you are, the conversation is going to end right after I report your skanky ass and the authorities show up. I mean, unless you are so bored in prison you want to keep writing me, but you'll probably be busy there. (And, yes, I did try to use my correspondence to figure out who my penpal was so I could report him. No such luck.) (Although I did once report a Dom I was chatting with who told me he was actively Domming and training his roommates 9 year old daughter. He let me talk to 'her' (maybe she was real, maybe not, but she was classically forthcoming with inappropriate information, as children tend to be, like the name of her school, teacher, ect.) I have to tell you, I could not generate any interest in this 'online story' of mine when I tried, very hard, to report.)

There are a myriad of explanations.  Don't take it personally.

Or, like me, just cultivate a certain degree of blatant confidence, so that you believe when people fail to write you back, it's their loss.  The one that makes me laugh is that I'm almost entirely certain one of the emails I sent to someone got bounced by their "you must be local" filter... which is ironic, because although I live in NYC, it's not the state I currently work in (that would be MA).

Ultimately it's all peanuts.  Don't sweat this kind of nonsense.

Yes, I have been on here for awhile. Yes, I have been blocked and have blocked others as well when they ticked me off. But I've never had someone ask me a non-sarcastic question like where I'm from and then block me so I couldn't answer their question.....what a dumb ass.  I'm not taking it personal at all. In fact, I found the whole thing rather amusing, which is why I decided to share.

Sounds pretty simple to me.  When viewing one's profile, the 'block' box is right next to the 'add to favorites' box.  On the list screen, it's right next to 'view all photos.'

That's really the only thing that makes sense here.  You could try writing a note in your journal that whoever emailed you, might have blocked you on accident.
