swtnsparkling -> spiked rolling pin (9/26/2005 1:03:18 PM)

Hi,

I'm looking for a spiked rolling pin. I found one before a couple years ago but the site I used is no longer there.
This toy looks just like a rolling pin covered in leather with little spikes like those used in vampire gloves. if anyone has one or knows where I can purchase one please let me know. Thank You swt

Try a local leather maker. Just have him make one in the circumfence of a real rolling pin with snaps. If you want to make it permenant, and so it won't slide, just drive a nail or two into it. I've seen those before.

Here's what ive found on the net:
child's toy
pastry tool
article on tool
auction that had one once
It looks pretty easy to make. If you sacrificed the leather for say, ummm, tooldip you could use little nails, craft spikes, or even decorative studs and just dip the finished product.

Purple pleasures apparently used to sell this item but after a full search of their site i found none.

RTP Co. Inc. makes one. Look under meat tenderizers.

I like that.. I think I will make one...
You can get most of it from the local JoAnn fabrics store just FYI

While you are picking up the rolling pin, buy an icing comb...great for wax removal.

Just made one thanks to a great little site. It was easy! Went to home Depot, bought a 1 inch wood roller in the wallpaper section, used a staple gun and shot staples into it, cut off the staple part leaving the barbs sticking out. too easy

Check crate & barrel you're looking for a french paistry roller. They come in metal which can be covered with leather if you like.

Mistress Mir has a nice one.. email her - maybe she'll remember where she got it. ([email protected] - I think)

That photo seems like a simple project to make... Just a visit to your local leather shop or tack shop you should find everything from the "christmas-tree" spikes to the little bedazler things to turn upside down and make into vampyre spikes.
