"Wall Street and Washington share bailout idea"

" Under those plans, the government would take failing mortgages off the hands of investors and write new terms that would prevent foreclosure.

The Frank bill is specifically aimed at borrowers who are distressed because the value of their home has dropped.

His legislation would see lenders write down the mortgage amount in exchange for a government guarantee the new loan would not fail. Lenders who have a choice between seizing a home or taking a hit on the loan amount could find the plan appealing. "

Didn't I hear somewhere that government shouldn't interfere with business  ?

The sooner the banking system is brought under rigorous control the better.
At the moment their survival is so important to a "free enterprise " economy that whatever they do they have to be bailed out.
They know this and act accordingly.

I find that terribly ironic: the super powers of the business world reduced to grovelling to government because they're too chicken shit to lend money anymore... hilarious!

Oh Seeks, now they'll just ban you outright...

-----

The whole monetary system is an elaborate ponzi scheme. If you get stuck holding paper currency when it falls apart, then you really do have nothing. In the meanwhile, the bankers and the other power brokers use the same nothing to buy up most of the real wealth (real property).

Interestingly, we don't think of them as criminals, but only as misguided or overenthusiastic in their dealings. But those are the true ciminals. It doesn't take street level violence to rob people of their wealth, retirements, homes, etc - it just has to be brokered in D.C.

Our societal scapegoats are more in the mold of Jean Valjean from "Les Misérables." Those are they that feel compelled to commit street level violence or crime and fill our jails. Bread to feed their young.

Such is life...

Frankly, some of the predatory lenders who were offering these "great deals"-and then using a bait and switch jacking up of the rsates are the real issue with so many foreclosures.

The fuckers should be going to jail to be ass raped-not getting bought out to escape the consequences of usury.

Since they killed-off Eliot Spitzer, who is going to have the balls to stand up to the money-men?

Being an example was perhaps the real goal...
