The Kinks - Lola http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMsnqQHOwFg

Black Crowes - Remedy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qD72NCJSkk&feature=related

Black Crowes - Sometimes Salvation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvqFkVNlWs8

Level, i have done a lot of research today, trying to figure it out and the best that i can come up with is weak at best and i have a feeling that i am wrong..... i hate being wrong and this trivial thing is driving me nuts.   is it  The Who..... they all have ties to The Who
Starkey occassionally is the drummer for the Oasis, current drummer for The Who, son of Ringo Starr.  The Black Crows toured with The Who.  And The Kinks were one of the four bands considered to be part of the British Invasion which also included The Who.   Both Oasis and the Black Crows list The Kinks as a major influence.  And all three are considered "one of the greatest bands" and listed as such in the Billboard Top 100 Bands.  ........... well, will you please put me out of my misery now?   *gigglez*

Is it: brothers in band together and don't get along?  I don't have a link to post but I'm enjoying all the great music links

Kirren -> RE: Rock on (3/23/2008 10:08:28 PM)

I have researched this one...by subjecting Myself to repeated audience of these songs...If you take the words to The Sweater Song and Beverly Hills you can basically fit them together...which means...in My mind...weezer has totally ripped off Weezer...and that means....they are gay.

The beats a lil different....but I think its alost the exact same thing...try hard and you can sing them over top of each other...tho its a challenge, kinda like patting your head and rubbing your belly. Unless you can get some one else to rub your belly, while you pat your own head...in which case...youre cheating just like Weezer....

Im adding Buddy Holly, just cos I think you can do it with that one too.

Try it...its like musical Twister. It gets tricky. Do not try this while drinking.

Give the lady a prize [:D] You're exactly right, BGD.

The Crowes have Chris and Rich Robinson, The Kinks have Ray and Dave Davies, and Oasis, Noel and Liam Gallagher. If not mistaken, all three bands have broken up before due to intense fighting, and there have been times when that fighting became literal, on stage.

Once, sometime in the mid 70's, I think ( don't remember the 70's that well), I went to see Tom Waits at a small club in Chicago. While waiting online to get in, I noticed this "lowlife" kinda guy panhandling the line and passersby.  Watching the show, I realized the panhandler was T.W.. No one else recognized him outside either. When he asked me for "spare change", I told him to fuck off and get a job, lol. Ya just gotta love the guy.

Hey, colouredin, that Katrina and the Waves tune must be the flip side to your dark and gothic one, eh ? ;)
