junecleaver -> Violet wand and heat rashes? (3/14/2008 11:19:02 AM)

Have you ever gotten a heat rash/funky skin reaction from a violet wand?  Or am I just ultra sensitive?  Or is something else heating up my bum (location of the heat rash) while I'm not paying attention? [image]http://www.collarchat.com/image/s4.gif[/image]

"The arc of the Violet Wand is a small but effective heat source that can dry out the surrounding skin area if the arc is allowed to dwell over that area. It is even possible to cause minute (1-3 mm) second degree burns under the same circumstances."

i've never had a heat rash as a result of VW play, though i have no doubt it can do that to you.  :)   Generally i am left with funny squiggly red marks.

Red squiggly marks and/or red pinpricks are what I usually get.

One can get minute burns from a violet wand, but usually they follow exactly the path that the wand moved (and it usually has to be moving very slowly).  I've never heard of an area effect that would mimic a heat rash.  Of course, everyone is a bit different.  You may have skin that is very sensitive to the ultra violet output from the wand.

The worst reaction I ever got was because I was sweaty (water conducts electricity) and I had on metal that I am allergic too (duh!).  I ended up with a horrible rash/hives which took a while to heal.  That is what happened to me and may have absolutely nothing to do with your reaction.  Heal well and quickly.

This site has information on rashes after VW play.

Thank you for the responses.

Wenchie, that's an awesome website, thanks for the link.

I have a few burn marks here and there from where he dragged a wartenburg wheel all electrofied down my body.  Aside from that, I guess I just have sensitive skin.

june > it all is up to how the wand was used and what setting and  its duration.I would clarify that as a burn not a rash .when used with a wartengurg wheel the arch is smaller and more concentrated in a pin point type spot /s.I have used a Violet wand for branding and for light electro  exchanges .
wenchie and june yeah uncle A's site rocks ..

You're welcome june!  i have to agree with both of you, Uncle Abdul's site has great information.

Hooray for marks!

I /really/ must get a violet wand. That was fun. Hopefully none of the marks are overly obvious?

People have differing galvanic responses in thier chemistry. I'd be the sort who test on small areas with a new girl before going whole hog-but that's just me.

sweetwenchie -> RE: Violet wand and heat rashes? (3/14/2008 4:13:37 PM)

Not overly obvious marks, and they seemed to fade within a day or two.  Everyone marks differently of course, so it would depend on how well your girl marks, and how quickly her skin heals up.

i do love the violet wand though!   Especially when used in conjunction with bits of shiny metallic tinsel and metallic pipe cleaners in strategic locations.  lol

Have fun exploring with the wand if you get one!

I have to agree with wenchie that Unc is great to learn anything electrical from. I enjoyed the chances I got to speak one-on-one about electrical play with him when I lived back on that side of the country.

I haven't heard of a bad rash. I've seen what looked like mild sun burn after playing with our wand in the past but not anything like a bad rash. You mentioned using the wartenberg wheel with the wand which can be fun and leave interesting reminders :)

msterfixer -> RE: Violet wand and heat rashes? (3/14/2008 7:41:02 PM)

interesting, I'll have to remember this one.
