Has anyone actually listened to what Obama's pastor says? Jeremiah Wright has said that the US is evil. That the US government is influenced by the KKK. And that the government created the HIV virus to eliminate minorities.

This guy is a anti-American racist whacko. And the only thing Obama says about him is "there are some things he says I disagree with, like an old uncle."
Then Obama goes on to say that he doesnt believe his church is controversial.

And yes it matters to me. This guy is running for President of the United States. I want to know how he thinks. I have that right as a voter and a concerned American citizen. I want to know why Obama wont distance himself from this racist speech and racist beliefs. He's been a member of this church for 20 years.....Yes...I do think he has some explaining to do.
I dont want a racist as President as this country. And the media wont force Barak Obama to answer what his real beliefs are. So I guess I am going to have to assume he subscribes to the hate and racist speech by Jeremiah Wright.

All McCain has to do is throw this on some of his ads and he'll have no problem beating the Democrats which has obviously turned into a party of racism.

The IRS is now investigating this Church, by the way....

Yeah his pastor and "spiritual advisor" is something else.  Here's a news article that provides some more information as well...

i don't know much(and not inclined to find out) about PA. voting laws but i tried to switch party affiliation recently in New York.No problem after the general election i will be a registered democrat. It seems there are actual regulations in place probably for the very purpose of not allowing lets say republican's from influencing who the democrats nominate .Wouldn't Rush Limbaugh know about this .

Not really....there is a date in advance (30 days before the election in most states) that you can switch party registration. I believe March 24th is the PA deadline. So you can switch all you want before that date.

Yeah, because the Christian Republicans don't have this problem with dozens of preachers on their side of the equation...

Robertson, Falwell, etc...

Seems like an odd time to start worrying about it. What about the last 232 years?

And you do realize that this whole issue is guilt by association, don't you? There are members of this board that occasionally say some crazy racist, homophobic shit and I don't feel the need to explain myself in relation to them.

More FUD. Pathetic FUD at that...

Please note the threads I have posted against Obama. There are legit reasons. You don't need this madness.

Who you associate with and respect says alot about who you are. Unless you are a Democrat it seems.
It looks as if there are alot of people here who agree with the pastor's boneheaded and racist views.

The friends you hang out with say alot about who you are. That's reality. Obama has been a member of this church for 20+ years. He refuses to detatch himsef from this church and he has not made any comment about what and if he disagrees with what Wright says.

To me...it's not good enough.

How does that old saying go?  Help me out here.....    "Birds of a feather....

So, the thread ends up where it belongs...

I am not a religious person. But it my observation that people might still attend a church while not believing or agreeing with everything coming down from the pulpit. For example, many catholics might practice birth control even though the pope tells them not to.

I'm sorry, but a rational fair-minded person sees this kind of attempt to defame Obama for the crap that it is. You can't hold person A responsible for what person B says or does.

And even if you had that tendency, Christian Republicans have certainly cut folks like 700 Club's Pat Robertson plenty of slack over the years. I recall Robertson saying San Francisco should be attacked by terrorists because of the gay people that lived there. No one had to answer for it then and they don't have to now either.

To me...it's not good enough.

If you don't like the truth then vote for a liar.  It is still kinda free country.
