ORIGINAL: FLButtSlut Hanging is not the typical execution in the US, hasn't been for a long long time. Women also do not typically commit suicide this way, so that leaves that out. My question though, is why are you trying to find out? I would be interested in your sources on womens suicide proceedures? My best friend(female) commited suicide by hanging thirteen years ago this November. Devistated, I decided not to just wallow, but to find out and see what I could do. So I assisted with the samaritans. Psychs explained that the prefered method of suicide is hanging for people (considered one of the most painless, with no possibility of escape) - male or female - when the suicide is a finality - as is train/tram jumpers. Overdose and cutting is usual in cases of 'the cry for help' or complete mental breakdowns and that jumpers are the unknown quantity. Death by Gun is also a last ditch attempt, however people fail to realise that this is one of the worst ways to go, due to misfires, hand movements etc... Peace and Love
