Was looking up Female hangins in America,
and came across this site.
Nobody on here seemed to be from America?

And we think some of our Laws Are Strict.

Hanging is not the typical execution in the US, hasn't been for a long long time. Women also do not typically commit suicide this way, so that leaves that out.

My question though, is why are you trying to find out?

This is incredibly peculiar, and I would pay to understand why you are interested in female hangings, as if human torture or killing by any means is more fun/less deplorable! M

I'm Curious,
because You always here about male executions,
and I know Woman are not that excluded.
I was just curious if Woman ever got hanged here in the U.S.
and found this site.

Sincerely, Ant[;)]

Hanging and execution end with the same result. Did you find out how many MEN had been hanged? To accurately try to figure out what you are looking to find you need to find a comparative number.

knees2you -> RE: Female hangings (9/26/2005 11:27:47 PM)

I Believe men where hanged more.
But if You know other wise?

You "believe"? Go find out! Hanging has not been the "preferred" execution method in over a hundred years (I think).

The point is you are searching the wrong comparatives.

According to other Countries,
it is still going on today~

I wish it wasn't...

I'm sure some famous people got hanged~

I would be interested in your sources on womens suicide proceedures?

My best friend(female) commited suicide by hanging thirteen years ago this November. Devistated, I decided not to just wallow, but to find out and see what I could do. So I assisted with the samaritans. Psychs explained that the prefered method of suicide is hanging for people (considered one of the most painless, with no possibility of escape) - male or female - when the suicide is a finality - as is train/tram jumpers. Overdose and cutting is usual in cases of 'the cry for help' or complete mental breakdowns and that jumpers are the unknown quantity. Death by Gun is also a last ditch attempt, however people fail to realise that this is one of the worst ways to go, due to misfires, hand movements etc...

Peace and Love

Death penalty in America is more modern than that : http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/article.php?scid=24&did=229
Excuse the oxymoron.

edited to add : Few famous people were hanged, because death penalty doesn't belong to a modern country, and hanging used to be for thieves. Rich or noble people were usually decapitated. Which could be more painful before the invention of Mr. Guillotin, since the executioner was not always perfectly accurate with his axe : the executioner of Mary, queen of Scotland was maybe drunk, and her last words were (according to the legend ?) : "executioner, achieve your work !", after the first blow (she was beheaded by the third blow).

reedited : I forgot the word "usually".

Just shows where my mind is! That's a great suggestion. Suspension is just complicated enough so that people need to share suggestions and experiences and it does have as much "baggage" is breath control.
