You all have great idea's and some of them I have tried. I must admit I am starting to feel a little more girly in a fashion. Lol

if i can do it, so can you....

give me a choice between jeans stuffed into wellies or a skirt and high heels and id pick the wellies. but i have to do this for He who is increasingly becoming someone i wish to obey.

sexy lingerie helps, lose the pj's and get something silky to the skin for bedtime. some georgeous smelling body cream a bit of lippy and some bling helps too. start looking in the shops for things that look pretty, they will give you an idea of where you want to go with it, but most of all, it helps to imagine yourself all dressed up and feeling sexy, walking into a bar and getting those looks that tell you youre one desirable babe with sexy to burn!

have fun with it.

Heya katie go to Victoria Secret's. The atmosphere alone there will make you feel girly or sick to your stomach(hehe). Go get a manicure and pedicure. That always makes me feel more feminine. Take the advice of buying a pair of heels and wear them just in your undies. Good luck on your girly journal.

cloths don't turn a girl into a lady. They make her look like one and it is pleasant of course..but it doesn't change her as a person....not fully atleast

Femininty is in interesting quality-and often, only an outsider can really quantify it. While I do appreciate the ease of access that a dress or skirt offers- the energy is what makes a girl a lady to me.

I'm a tomboy too, add to that I also just so happen to hate wearing clothes, fingernail polish, make up and all that other crap (it makes me feel like my skin can't breath and I'm suffocating). But, the societal whole demands that I wear clothing in public.

I feel the key to being femminine isn't in the clothes or the accessories but in the mindset. There is no reason you cannot be a tomboy and still put off an aura of femminity. I do it all the time. We're created different from the way we speak, think to the way we walk and carry ourselves then men and they can't help but notice.

Why not try small simple changes? Such as a nice lacy, layered babydoll top with jeans or capri's bottomed off with dance shoes found at walmart both affordable, functional and girly? There you have a more femminine look thats ready for anything including climbing a tree if you want.

As far as make up goes...with your natural beauty I'd stick with a little tinted lip gloss, there is such a thing as too much war paint and honey you do not need it!

Of course I am also the girl that thinks combat boots look cute with a daydress so you might want to rethink taking my advice.

O I'm sorry I forgot to add that the hardest thing for me was to learn how to sit like a lady, especially after having laid down my bike and aquiring a hip injury that didn't heal right. I've found the most comfortable "ladylike" position for me to sit in is with my feet tucked under my chair, crossed at the ankles. It puts far less strain on my hips and can be maintained rather easily for a long period of time.

Do not use an eyelash curler!! I saw the effects of a woman who accidently ripped all of her eyelashes out with an eyelash curler. They didn't all grow back in...

My question would be why the sudden desire to be more femenine?
Is it something you are doing for you or is it something you are doing for someone else?
Doing it for you, just do what feels right. Walk around a store until a skirt strikes your fancy, or a blouse jumps out at you. I am masculine and quite happy that way. I do, however, have several skirts, blouses and other femenine things for when I have the desire to look that way. Behaviorly, thats a little harder. It takes conscious thought to sit properly (wear a skirt a few times, short enough that people can get a show if you dont and you learn faster) do walk delicately, to sip not chug... things like that.

Doing it for someone else and it isnt you. That will be far far harder to learn becasue you arent doing anything but playing a part.

Get a manicure and pedicure .... and buy something silky to sleep in .. when you get comfy in that it becomes easier to find something to wear out of the house that is more sensual feeling ... the manicure and pedicure make you feel pampered and girly..go with light colors or a french manicure not dark colors .. then it isnt a " shock" when you look at yourself ...

Try a slightly larger earring .. or a bracelet .. a step at a time .. the little things that you add will be easier to get used to and all add up to a big change ..

I had this same problem when I decided I wanted to be more femenin. What I found worked for me was looking a pictures of women in many different eras. I have never been a fan of 'modern' clothing, as most of it looks trashy. However, I found myself really drawn to the women's fashion of the 1940's. I try to emulate that. I feel comfortable, and I know I look really good dressed that way. Same thing with the makeup. Finding a look you love makes it more fun than trying to copy these 'fashion icons' of today. As for heels, I can't help you. I have a huge lust for high heels, and wear them with everything. That may just be genetic...

I've been curling my eyelashes for 40 years. I've never ripped one out. But only curl the top lashes. You don't want the bottom ones curling up. And mascara is better applied to the top of the top lashes since men tend to be taller than us and won't notice the bottom lashes. I just do the very ends of the bottom lashes.

I used to be told I walked like a man. Then I watched some dancers who moved like they were on wheels - their heads didn't bob up and down, and they looked so graceful. So I practiced and practiced until I could walk without bobbing my head up and down, and could do it naturally. Pretty soon, no matter how I was dressed, people would say my movements were so graceful and ladylike. Pretty heady stuff for a tomboy (yes, I was - I grew up with only my brother to play with).

Also, I read some advice once: "Wear audacious underwear under everyday clothing." It makes you smile mysteriously, and for some reason people think that's feminine, too.
