So I've been having a back and forth discussion on a local list with a Mistress and the topic of communication came up. We got to discussing how at times some submissives can act or do things in the hopes of getting attention, and that she hates how manipulative that is. As someone who's been guilty of that behavior in the past (and trying to change) I put forth that its simply not always easy to get down to a deep, get to know you conversation with a new female Domme. Betwixt the placing on a pedistal most Domme's get (for being Domme) and our inate shyness it makes things super-difficult. There is the fear of rejection, the fear of shunning which comes into play. I think most subbies know how bad it would be to provoke a reaction in the hopes of connecting, but I also think its often done subconciously. Maybe free submissives need to be made aware of thier proclivities, and inquiring Mistresses should be less focused on the what and more on the why?
