except the tomaters. and the greenery is growing well, just not the plump, soft, sweet, fuzzy .....

erm. the tomaters themselves are conspicuous by their absence

I love thinking something through, talking it over with a cutie patootie or two, and then asking about what is on my mind... and then finding that others agree with me in some ways and have other perspectives as well and we all have meaningful, interesting conversations.

Status: offline 		I love last night.  Aunt and Uncle Fab arranged their time so we could all decorate the tree together.  And we put a fire in the fireplace, opened a bottle of Pinot, put on "It's a Wonderful Life", and they told me the story behind each ornament.  I put up a few of my own ornaments and told them the stories behind them, and it is a sweet little tree, covered in love and joy.  We laughed and told each other which were our favorites and why.
I really loved this one they have of a black bear... lying in the snow making snow angels.  It's ever so cute - and they got it on a trip to Alaska.  And the harp made of peat that they got in Ireland.. and the "Our First Xmas Together" one they got for a wedding gift 9 years ago... and the little hand knit llama some gal sent them from Peru, and the set of White House ornaments his son in law sent him every year but they didn't know who it was from... Ohhh there are so many...

Status: offline 		I love it that I got up early this morning & my sister made the dough for my favorite cocoa cookies.  I was able to give back to them by cleaning up the kitchen.  I have always wanted someone to tidy up after my baking, so that's what I did for her.  I love that there are other ways of giving back to people as generous as my sister & brother-in-law.

Sunny, when i was first married i wanted a uniform tree. It was done exclusively with white doves and red velvet bows. It was beautiful but very very impersonal. I hated it.

The next year i went to my moms and fished the old decorations out of the basement...the grade school projects, the old beat up ornaments that i never thought twice about when i was a kid. Through the years i have collected non traditional things that become ornaments, and of course the LoudOne has supplied quite a few precious gems.

When i am alone i don't bother with decorations or a tree.

Status: offline 		I love it when DB sends me a link to something personal and special that makes me all giddy.

I love it when my babies went to sleep early tonight and I got to have quiet, all to myself time, knowing my two lovies were just down the hall.

I love it when some of the nicest moments of my day are when I watch them sleeping, and I sneak over and put "mommy-kisses" all over their cheeks and whisper "I love you" to them.

I love it when my Dad was so wonderful and told me earlier that I didn't need to bring the little ceramic Christmas tree to him this evening because 1) it was too cold to come out;  2) he'll be here on Tuesday and can get it then; and 3) it was better to just relax and enjoy the last few hours of the weekend at home rather than running up and down the highway.  (I love my Dad.)

I love it when my ex thanks me for listening when he had a problem and making a couple of suggestions that may help him.
