As far as i understand it(and i am by no means an expert) Karma works under the principle of "you get what you put out". It all comes down to choices, and our attitudes towards life. If one is contantly negative, one will attract negative things, while the reverse is also true. Look at it this way, there are people who strugle with all sorts of problems all through their lives, but are happy and positive. They pull in things that make them happy, even when thier lives are going badly. Then there are those that have good things happen to them but still end up bitter and miserable.
As far as why good or bad things happen to people, it has very little to do with how they have acted. Some things may occur so a certain life lesson may be learned, but nothing can force one to learn anything. So it still comes down to choices. How we react to the world around us affects what we get out of life.
For those who don't think they are negative, try this. Put a rubber band around your wrist(make sure its not too tight) and then snap it every time you catch yourself thinking something bad or nagative. It starts to sting after a while.
Of course, i could have it all wrong......

I believe it would take me a long time to assess all possibilities, in order to answer that question accurately; an amount I do not believe I am afforded.

However, off the top of my head, I can not think of a situation where a person would be involved without having taken some step to get them there; with the exception of birth, this could be debatable, if one believes in reincarnation.

This does not mean I believe what happens, once they’re there, is what they intended.

More importantly, I am saying it is not the event that is so significant, then the lesson that is derivable from the event.

Karma does not choose anything; people make choices; karma is the result of those choices….

Well, at least that is what I thought. It appears I could be wrong. If that is the case, then perhaps the need for a new word is in order.

If they have then fair enough Karma works
If they haven't then why did Karma choose them?

The problem is that evil has to have an origin but with Karma it seems no one is evil and no one is innocent, so where does the chain of events start from? If I kill someone then I'll be run over by a bus fair enough but what did the person I kill do to deserve being killed? They say Karma is separate from free will so how do random acts of violence against innocent people fit into the equation because people can do bad things with free will against good people. Surely Karma would prevent people from doing bad things to good people? If there were more bad people than good people either there wouldn't be a lot of karma or a lot of freewill, pure maths can prove that.

To whom are you speaking?

I don't quote people unless I need to, especially if they are right above me when I'm replying to them. Unless noted otherwise the person I am replying to is written in the lower right corner but I always welcome replies from anyone no matter who I'm replying to, I don't often feel the need to write FR either for some reason.

I know these kinds of protocols are an issue to some but I can generally work out who is talking to who by reading the posts sequence and the wording of replies so I guess I take them for granted a little bit sorry.

I try to identify the preson to whom I am speaking either by name or by direct quote. That way there is no confusion or ambiguity. Sometimes I fuck up, though.
