I just plunked down a good deal of money to have someone beat my ass, not literally -- but I did sign up for some personal training.  Its one of two things I think its better to pay for, in a leather context, than to try to get from that submissive or boy or whatever in your life.  In the end, I'm the Top and if I don't want to work out, I'll say no -- what is s/he going to say to me?  I suppose it would be the exceptional one who might be able to cajole me.  I don't have that now in my life, so, I'm paying a bit of tribute to a very large scary man, who told me today "no carbs after 6pm".  Got it!  In truth, I've always thought that personal training was a great job for a Top; I'm always amused when I watch them tell people to do things that they hate or are hard.  It gives me a little smile when I'm at the gym

The other thing I learned, or rather was warned many many years ago by some friends who owned dungeon space -- its just easier to pay someone to clean. They told me the amount of time that is required to supervise it just isn't worth it.  Might as well pay someone or do it yourself.  I'v stuck to that, although I have had people do my floors before, because I hate it.

What do you think?  Are there just some things that you're better off paying for?  What's your experience?

i am at the point where i no longer do the cooking for a large family gathering. It never works out right. You always have well meaning family/friends who insist you tell them what they can bring. You give them a dish which they agree to and, it never fails, they change their minds at the last minute and make good ol potato salad. So...on Thanksgiving there are no sweet potatoes, rolls, veggies BUT DAMN...there is plenty of potato salad...six bowls of it, in fact. Help yourself. So now the entire meal is catered.

Oh yeah, one other thing... i never allow anyone else to bring is the wine. A few years ago Aunt Whasshername did not have time to buy the wine so instead stopped at a mini-mart for a few bottles of root beer.

Ha! This is an interesting discussion. It's where being a servant v. submissive is important. lol

MsK does the workout and yoga seasonally. In the spring and summer and it's my job to get Her out of bed and to be the personal trainer. To me, service is about helping and ensuring that a D-type meets their goals. Being a good servant is the same as telling the D-type to get their asses out of bed because they have meeting at 9 and no matter what they say that morning...making sure they get out of bed on time. That means the job is not always easy. I've found...sex is a great tool for waking up. lol

There are somethings worth paying for. I will agree on that. Like the oil nut on the Jimmy...pain in the ass to turn...no matter what the weather is outside and my job is to take care of things...so getting the oil changed I can do that...I'd rather pay for it though. Washing the car...I can do that...and mostly with great joy...however it's time consuming and She wants me there with Her doing other stuff. So yeah I pay for it. There's other stuff...but it's just a few example from the life of a boi.

Some things I would rather pay for than do myself.

Service my autos..................... Many years ago I used to do all of that stuff myself or enlist a brother to assist. No more.
Wash the autos........................ It is just quicker and easier to take it to the car wash that drag all that shit out at home.
Clean my kitchen thoroughly......I once paid someone to clean the fridge, oven, cupboards. OMG what a wonderful treat!
Mow........................................As long as they do not clip the edges of the flower beds.
Trim my horses feet...................Too hard on my back to argue with a 1000# animal.
Give animals shots.....................I swear they are looking at me like I have betrayed them when I do it.
Plow my lane in winter..............Shoveling it is a motherfucker.
Filing........................................ I hate it, and am supposed to be doing it as I type.

when the alternative is that I would have to do it myself, in a self-luxuriant sort of way I suppose the answer is a yes.
