Hello A/all.

Master and i need some help.  W/we just moved and for the first time W/we are able to make a 'dungeon' room.  However, W/we really need ideas.  i have been searching the 'browse photos' tab to see pictures of what O/others have done...but that feature does not work so well.  i end up sifting through the same 500 photos or so.  i am asking A/anyone with pictures of their equipment and rooms to post them here.  Whether it be a link to a photo album or just to list profiles where Y/you have seen pictures that contain good ideas.  Everything is greatly appreciated.  Thank Y/you so much.

i know there are lots of threads on how to create a dungeon, so maybe sharing your ideal big picture will help others share useful detales. "traditional" dungeon, medical, easy to switch into a guestroom/ office?-just phoenix

It will be a "traditional" dungeon with major renovations. Not able to double as anything else.  W/we are not soo much into medical however, W/we are open to any and all ideas.  Atleast looking at them.  Looking at creativity usually spawns other creativity.  The only thing W/we know W/we are going to do so far is remove the doors on the closet and make them an open beam 'jail type cell' for confinement without worry about air flow.  We are also leaning towards a black and red color scheme.  But nothing is in stone yet.  Thank You.

well, i lack pictures, but might i suggest; start with a nice reagle looking chair. if you cannot invest in a massage table or bondage table, use an old looking wooden table that is sturdy, and use a work-out mat on top of the surface. the mat can be easily fitted into another casing, to suit your taste.  drill some rings or restraining devices to the underside of the table and you're on your way. walls can simply be painted to look as stone of any sceane of your taste, even with arch ways and supports and... okay, there are my ideas, hope you have lots of fun- just phoenix

I have always dreamed of having a room in the house, maybe not the dungeon, draped with red and black cloth that would form triangular shapes on the walls, and having candles everywhere

Hiya lindy,
My new chambers should be complete after a week or so. I am having my suspension fitted tomorrow, so will have some new images by next week. I am working on a new website over the next few days, so hopefully may help you both with ideas, and inspiration.

:)

For about 10 years, I had two tiny rooms in my basement that had a cross, an exam table, a suspension frame (took up most of a small room) and a few other odds and ends, plus a wall covered with pegs and toys hanging from them.  In the last year, after going in on a space with a local bondage group and a couple of private individuals, we share this:  http://www.pavloviadenver.com/dungeon.html

To hang equipment, I put strips of 1.5" X 1.5" wood along the wall, clamped the wire grid snap-together square shelves you can get at Target to them, and used a ton of S hooks to hang all my toys.  I made cubes on each wall to put blankets and other things that don't hang as well.  The wire grids work really well, but I found that tiny S hooks are always falling off whenever I pick up a toy, but the big S hooks work pretty well.  I'd clamp them on with a vise grip if my hands were stronger.

Clip lights are pretty handy to have on hand if you need to do some sort of fine detail work, like needle play or other blood play where good lighting is essential.

I make some nice high end pieces. If you're in need of something let me know. The advantage to custom furniture is that if fits you and yours perfectly. My dungeon is custom fitted to me, LOL.

while I've never had a dedicated dungeon (closest thing would be a basement with anchor points set into the wall, cieling, and pillars), I have designed one I would like to include in the house.  Dimmer-switch primary lighting and accent (rail) lights can really help the mood of a dungeon.  Deep, vivacious colored fabrics (burgundy, black, royal purple) can also help!

I won't bother suggesting equipment because A) everyone's tastes differ and B) so many people already have.

I second the variable lighting, need to have that available for detailed play. Also consider heating and cooling ... and a small fridge for keeping water and a bit of food on hand for the aftercare. We have used black, purple and red as a colour scheme and that works well. I don't have pics on a website though. Some suggestions for furniture:
* St Andrew's Cross ... can attach it to a wall, though I prefer a free-standing one with a back support and chains to stabilise so it can be moved around
* bondage bed easily made out of a single bed, appropriately painted, covered mattress, eyelets for threading rope or attaching chains to ... easy and cheap
* subby seat (also doubles as a Queening seat if sub kneels on the floor) ... hard to describe but basically 2 horizontal planks at an angle which holds person's legs well apart, joined by a resting place for the ass. Ours is free standing but also locks into place through the lower legs of the cross providing a back rest. The advantage to having such things custom made is to have them at appropriate heights and angles for the main people using them. I can send pics of this through the other side of CM if you'd like ... saw something similar on the training of O website after We designed Ours
* massage table is great for wax play, needle play etc etc
* chest of drawers for holding small toys and keeping them clean, out of dust etc
* spare gym mat or mattress on the floor for hog ties and other floor-based activities
* old home gym equipment can be versatile ... a press bench can be raised to different angles to bend subbies over for spanking ... and I have seen a full home gym used to great effect with nipples clamped and attached to all sorts of weights, overhead bars etc!
* a good sling safely attached to the ceiling supports is fantastic to have as it gives so much access to the sub's body and yet is comfy for longer play sessions
* suspension frame and winch
* have seen a one-bar prison made from an old adjustable hairdresser's chair frame (seat removed) and an attachment mounted on top to which screw-down dildoes of various sizes and shapes (one was a semi-closed fist!) could be attached. Coupled with a simple suspension frame to which the hands could be tied overhead ... it was very effective!
*an upright post (with access all round) to which a sub can be attached for whipping ... or can be mummified to ... can be useful

In Perth We were lucky enough to have the use of a medieval rack (originally made for a stage play!) but sadly had to leave it behind when We moved cross country. It was great for similar styles of play as the massage table, but also could be used for stretching subbies (medieval chiropracty!!) and perhaps the most jaw-dropping scene was seeing a boy's Prince Albert piercing attached to the same bottom handle as his feet (by a long string) and then the stretching began! There wasn't a man in the room who wasn't gritting his teeth and surreptitiously clutching his jewels LOL!

Whatever you choose, take your time, invest in the pieces you will use most first ... and enjoy!

I have seen a room that was completely painted a deep rich red as the base and then black crackle paint over it (result is black with red cracks in it) which looked aboslutely awesome... though it did require more lighting then usual since the black and red were quite dark.

the other thing that I would suggest is to consider having things black and certain areas white... but then use colored lighting. the light will reflect whatever color you shine on it... but then if you feel like something other then read for whatever reason changing a bulb is alot easier then changing the paint. also different colors can have different psychological effects which can be fun to incorporate into the scene if you are already going as far as a jail cell.

Thats all I got for now.

Cheers
Skully

I personally don't really care for dungeons, I get this claustorphobic (spelling, sorry) tight feeling inside of me and play is never any good.  Second, dungeons make me feel as though I should be ashamed of the way I have chosen to live my life and I am not.

Since, I've taken many woodworking classes at the college level my X-Master gave me the chance to redecorate our bedroom into a "suitable" play area that could hide his devices (he had young grandchildren always visiting) yet allowed me mental comfort.

So, first thing I did was to put four sturdy pillars from ceiling to floor into the room, attached a king size bed frame to the pillars with enough space underneath to accomodate 3 drawers on each side.  Some hooks and gray gauzy curtains all the way around that could be pulled back or closed to create a dungeony feel, hooks on all four posters in different positions.  And we were pretty much good to go.

Anyone visiting saw a well decorated bedroom in light gray with a hint of black and red.

A few well-placed blacklights helps a lot and gives a surreal color, especially if you want to do any body painting with melted wax crayons (flourescent ones!).  Blacklight also really helps with vivid color photography.

One of the local private basement dungeons uses black landscape barrier cloth as "wallpaper", hung up with a mixture of cornstarch and water, the idea being when they move out it will all come down easily with just water and was very inexpensive - not much more expensive than black paint.  Add a few candle wall sconces and some red rope lights on a dimmer and a couple other spotlights (also on a dimmer) in key locations (pointed to the cross and suspension areas primarily) and you have a great feel.

this might be good for the "feel" of the room, try spray painting the cealing a metalic color, then putting on a lot of clear gloss coat. this will reflect candle light.- just phoenix

Excellent suggestion.  I did exactly that with a small room in my first dungeon and it really brightened the place up without having to actually bring in big, bright lights.  Having corrugated metal on the walls also added to the gleam factor.

This is my last dungeon in my previous home... currently in  the process of finishing up my new dungeon in this house.

I think Dungeon's are rather personal and it's really hard to say one is best or better.  It really depends on the play you do and alot of other factors.  My new dungeon is going to be signifcantly different in look but will have alot of the same furniture and a few different things too.  The entire room is pine wood finished with  a few accents to fill it out.

ps... the password to see the room is  ' mists '.... I will leave it up for a while for those that want to look at it.... let me know if you can't access it.
