Florida, Michigan don't deserve revote While the "follow the rules next time" argument may seem persuasive, there's a problem with the logic being applied: quote:
If it were my call, I would tell them, "See ya in four years." Sure, that's pretty harsh, but 48 other states followed the rules. There is no doubt some of those states thought this would be over by Super Tuesday on February 5 and wanted their state to have a say in who the nominee would be, but they chose to be patient and wait their turn. Michigan and Florida didn't. The problem is, neither did Iowa, New Hampshire, or South Carolina. - Iowa's caucuses were on 3 January -- 32 days before the first Tuesday in February (Rule 11A states they can hold them no earlier than 22 days before the first Tuesday in February)
- New Hampshire's Primary was on 8 January -- 28 days before the first Tuesday in February (Rule 11A states they can hold it no earlier than 14 days before the first Tuesday in February)
- South Carolina's Primary was on 26 January -- 10 days before the first Tuesday in February (Rule 11A states they can hold it no earlier than 7 days before the first Tuesday in February)
Where are the sanctions being levelled against these states?
