I'm thinking about going to a place called Paddles in NYC this friday or Saturday. It would be a new experience for me to go to a club. Any advice.

I would call them and ask about the rules there. You may want to talk a friend with you, also. Ive been there before but that was ages ago. Have fun.

Its a fun club, I've been there a few times. It is a strict no body fluids environment. They have excellent equipment, a good variety of it, and a number of separate spaces for socialization vs play. If you go on a special night (hard to determine when they have them other than new years) you may get to see the additional rooms that they only sometimes open. These are themed - the office, the eastern throne room, and the dungeon. The club also has a non alcoholic bar area so you can get a sprite or what ever after play. They frequently have demos, classes, etc. Overall I think its an excellent place to go. Have fun!

DSF has a caning demo Friday night before Paddles opens to the public. You might want to check it out as well.

Paddles is a nice, friendly, open place. Been there a number of times. Are you going just on a whim hoping to meet someone and/or get to play or is there some particular reason? As someone else mentioned, Domsub Friends often has demos earlier in the evening before the place opens to the public (I've done 2 with a former Mistress). If you pick a night when one of these is being given (check the DSF site or maybe Paddles' site) it might be a way to meet people.

Yeah... don't be turned off or offended by the multitude of lonely old guys who bring every piece of equipment they have ever made/owned and then try to tell you how they will use it on you if you just strap into a contraption.

There are a lot of lonely losers out there (be they well equiped or not). Do not let that sour your experience. As with any insecure and over eager person, if you tell them to leave you alone (as kindly as you like, but I have always found that if you are to gentle with them they are too dim to really understand what you are telling them), they crumble like dust ... as does their unwanted pressure and attentions.

If TES is sponsoring a night there soon, I would go there at that time, rather than just any old weekend...more people, less desperation.

Paulla: I agree with everything you say, but, its certainly not Hellfire and you dont need a rain coat to deflect all the juices from guys masturbating. Neither is it the Sancturary but honestly I haven't been in any of those places for quite some time.
