Who knows about a reliable, reputable site to purchase a Story of O ring?

Hello, I make these rings. I make them in 10 different styles and they are available in sterling silver, 10kt, 14kt and 18kt in yellow and white gold. They come in various widths, some are rounded and some are flat. There is also one designed for a pinky finger and two that are modeled after chain links. Do you remember the "slave ring" from the seventies, I have updated that design to have a shackle like the Story of O ring. The shackle on my rings cannot be pulled off. There are matching earrings and a shackled heart pendant as well.
Thanks for asking and giving me a chance to tell you about what I make.
Take a look at this web page for a start.....

Also be sure to see the Story of O jewellery page. My goods are shipped literally world wide.

Nice rings Fetjeweller, I especially admire the narrow flat style.

The question is are you looking for one from the book or one from the movie?

The difference between the movie ring and the book ring is substantial.
As I understand it, the movie ring was made by a French goldsmith. It was about 12-14 mm wide. This is much wider than the rings we see people wearing most of the time. It did not have a ball to hold the shackle, it was a flattened loop on the top of the ring. The ball that we see in most designs was first used by people who made this ring in stainless steel, it may have been a ball bearing that was welded onto the top of a band. The shackle was like the one seen and used for a captive bead piercing. (they could be pulled off)
I have made Story of O rings for several years. My experience has been that a ring as wide as the one in the movie is too wide for most people. I do get custom orders for one that wide on occasions but not often.
The ring in the book was made of iron. It had a gold insert inside of it that rested against the skin. On a domed top there was a spiral design that looked like a Celtic spiral with three spokes. The design was inlaid with gold. The description in the book was fascinating but not practical in real life. Iron dose not make good jewellery. I have been tempted to make this ring in silver and gold and one day I will, but I unable to devote time to it right now.
It is interesting to know that the description of the ring in the book lead to the design now used for the BDSM Emblem. More information about the BDSM Emblem is on this page on my website.
