A few simple things that may help you. First and foremost safety should be your priority. Home made toys are fun, but be careful about what and how you craft. Uninteded edges, materials that are not suitable, these are risks you must be wary of. Check for warning lables on anything you plan to use. Woods and leathergoods could be treated with things that can cause skin irritation, or worse. Painted items could be toxic and hazardous. These things are important to be aware of. But enough lecture, I do have ideas to share. Spreader bar; visit a hardware store. Aluminum pole 3-5' in length , 10-15' nylon rope, three eye hooks, a drill capable of repeated use on the pole, four bolts and nuts matching the drill bit. Instructions; Drill holes in the aluminum pole, start with the central point, and then six inches out in either direction. Continue in three inch measures from there. Feed the eye hooks (photo of an eye hook; http://www.bosunsupplies.com/images/194-0.jpg ) to either end of the pole, secure in place with bolts and nuts at a suitable spread. nylon rope can be used to secure a person to the pole. Additionally, the spare eye hook can be used to secure the spreader bar to something else. flogging tools; Cat o' Nine Tails(Yeah, we're making all nine. It's nice.); leather cord, round or square. Nine lengths each being at least three feet in length, one small ring, brass, four lengths fine wire 3", 1 hot glue gun. You can find these items in a hobby and craft shop. First: tie each length of leather to the brass ring securely. Second; braid the three lengths on one end, the three lengths on the other end, and the three lengths in the middle, leaving ten to fourteen inches free Third; secure the braids with the lengths of wire. fourth; use the hot glue gun to cover the wire, both to hold it in place, and to secure the sharp edges. fifth; braid the three braided lengths together. sixth; secure the braided braids with final length of wire. seventh; use hot glue gun to cover wire. eighth; tie one or two knots in the end of each length of leather. nine; enjoy. Demon Spanker (A custom of my own creation) Visit; Hot Topic (or similar) Craft Store Purchase: one studded leather belt, long. One hardwood pole, two feet in length and not too thick to wrap your hand around. Hot glue gun. From the bottom, measure handle, plus eight inches for the sake of having proper balance. This is a stopping point. cut belt strips long enough to wrap around the pole, (and in this case, being a little too short is much better than being at all too long, don't be afraid to leave a stud's width open if need be.) and secure them to the pole with the hot glue gun leave a space of about half an inch between each strip, stopping at the afforementioned mark (a slight overlap won't hurt anything.) Use to taste. But remember, it's hard wood, it's heavy, and it's studded. It will HURT, and more importantly it is capable of HARMING. so for the love of all that is sacred, show the tool the respect it deserves. Do not play with knives that you may get cut, and all that.
