I'm thinking of dying my slave's (charlotte12) hair color to something a lot more blond, as she's starting to do more work in modeling, and I'd probably just like it, etc.  As the weather is getting nice, she'll also be getting a lot more tan, so that's a consideration.

Opinions?

Stephan

As was said to you in the other thread, blonde will probably not be a good colour for her.
I suggest you go to a salon where they can photoshop her picture and show you different styles and colours.
After you strip hair of it's natural colour it's a pain in the rear to 'hold' colour again.

Stickin with my opinion from the other thread, Stephann..  the darker she gets, the worse platinum will look. (experienced voice here).

If she's gonna tan, then a light chestnut might be good.. or a medium strawberry blonde if ya want light color.. a very light auburn I think might be best for darker skin.

Remember, she's got dark eyebrows.  dying eyebrows is a serious PITA (not to mention pain to the facial skin).  Leaving eyebrows as-is means considering head color that is complimentary.

just my .25..YMMV

Stephann,

from the pics it seems her hair is fairly dark? If so even a dark blond is going to be difficult to maintain (she will always be getting her roots touched up). Plus, she may not have the coloring for blond hair and it may not work if her eyebrows are dark. Might i suggest highlighting instead?

In the case of a drastic change to platinum blonde, this would involve bleaching the hair (which completely strips it) and has the potential to do alot of damage to the hair.. Even potentially changing the texture of the hair..
As far as color, you can still go blonde if you use a high lift color, which adds color on top of, rather than stripping color away..

Briefly, she's not opposed to the change.  It's something she might have done on her own, if not for the stigma of "she's just trying to look more like a slut."  Now that she's an owned slut, that's hardly a concern of mine.

BSB, that's what another friend of mine said, and I don't want to do any kind of serious damage to her hair.  I'm honestly more concerned with the health of her hair, than the color, though I think she could stand to lighten up quite a bit.

For those who mentioned her skin tone might make that hard, I'll point out I'd rather it be more ash blond, than pale golden yellow blond.

It is none of my business.

I prefer natural, unless someone is greying. I do think that tanning ought to start early in the year and that UV radiation is ultimately harmful to the skin.

what type of modeling is she doing? if it's fetish, then it really doesn't matter what color her hair is. have at it.

but if she is doing mainstream modeling, i'd leave it in the hands of her manager and agent. those who are making a living based on her appearance would be best suited to decide what is in her best interests and will maximize her profitability.

I don't know what she looks like(photographs are never a good indicator) or her eye colour so I would not recoomend a colour.
My suggestion would be to purchase her a high quality wig made from real hair and see if the colour agrees with her.  That gives both worlds.  Even as an option to see what she looks like, she could even simply go and try many colours on with you if you have a good hairdresser or store that sells them.

One thing to remember with such a drastic hair change is that her wardrobe and make up may need to change also - bear that in mind if she tries hair pieces on as well.  Wear a neutral colour like black or brown for that.
Changing the hair colour so drastically may be more expensive than you initially think.

I like her with dark hair. I don't understand why you'd want to change her hair; she looks beautiful as she is.

But that's just me :-) .

She looks to be a natural level 5 or 6. All over blonde is going to lots of upkeep and should not come out of a box. Realistically, she will need touch-ups every 6 to 8 weeks minimum. (Time and money) Ash is harder to achieve on hair that dark as it tends to pull alot of red. It usually requires bleach and tone wich does tend to damage the hair if done all over.
She could comfortably go to a level 8 med blonde then use lightener for blonde blonde highlites. Toning may or may not be needed. With a good conditioner, her hair should still be in excellent shape. Have fun and good luck~

Personally I LOVE dark hair, but if you have to change it why not speak to a colorist about it? Going blond is time and money consuming, it will damage her hair over time and I'm sure you don't want her hair looking like straw

You might try some red highlights in it, but then again the colorist would know best.

Good luck,
~Lashra

Aaaaaaargh this moved while I was posting. I wholeheartedly agree. This could end up having a negative impact on her modeling career and I think the photoshop idea is great.I do that when I get new glasses so I can 'preview' them before buying. Healthy hair should be cherished IMO, it is not always easy to regain a healthy head of hair once it is damaged.  but blue is one of my favorite colors.

Cali suggested trying on various wigs, and I absolutely agree.  It's the best way to see what colors are truly suitable without making a drastic mistake.  I had no idea just how Morticia like I would be in raven black hair until I tried on a wig!  (much sadness, since my mom is a raven, and I wanted hair like hers!)

Stripping color from dark hair really dries it out, and dark roots?  Ghastly.  I don't think they make a person look slutty, just unkempt.  Dark root maintenance like that has to be done WEEKLY, and by someone who can actually see the roots.....and I am guessing that would be YOU?

Regarding modeling, I would see what her agent says regarding hair.  Bad color can really get in the way of work.

heya Stephan,
I also think her hair looks great the way it is.  Not sure how she would look like blonde..I personally look horrible with it doesnt go with my dark skin..

Why not maybe some blonde highlights or chunks ?

Thanks for all the great suggestions.

At the moment, I'm her agent (I know, terrifying thought right?  It won't stay that way I'm sure.)  I have a great reference for a hairdresser in Burbank, and theres a 95% chance I'll take what she recommends.  The maintenance won't be an issue, she's getting some pretty lucrative work.

I don't think a wig is the way to go.  She already has fairly long, rather thick hair, that just isn't going to completely tuck under there.  As I mentioned on the other thread, I usually prefer dark hair anyway, but her hair sits in this limbo between dark and chestnut already.  I figure it's better to go one way, or the other..

I haven't ruled out simple highlights.  I've been rummaging around on photoshop, and here's a few ideas I have so far.
