I wonder if his US publisher can get him in - although the whole thing might well have been a publicity stunt. On the other hand, the US has that reputation, I remember a friend getting barred entry because of a very minor juvenile drug offence. I don't know the way it works but I think it's better if you're barred entry at a port than actually deported for an offence committed whilst there, teh first can be rescinded but not the second. I had always assumed laws on prostitution were the same there as here, so the Spitzer thing was the first time I realized it's actually illegal to sell sex there. Its a place that seems extra permissive and oddly puritanical at hte same time.
