That is ridiculous. A threat? Pffffft, he calls himself a dandy, hmmm maybe that is to hide his true THUG demeanor......lol I doubt it, I have stopped trying to apply logic to my governments descisions because it gives me a headache when i do.

I wonder if his US publisher can get him in - although the whole thing might well have been a publicity stunt. On the other hand, the US has that reputation, I remember a friend getting barred entry because of a very minor juvenile drug offence. I don't know the way it works but I think it's better if you're barred entry at a port than actually deported for an offence committed whilst there, teh first can be rescinded but not the second.

I had always assumed laws on prostitution were the same there as here, so the Spitzer thing was the first time I realized it's actually illegal to sell sex there. Its a place that seems extra permissive and oddly puritanical at hte same time.

From what I understand he tried to enter the US under a waiver program that allows British citizens to enter the United States without a visa. Could be wrong though.

BUT

If you have been convicted of illegal drug use or possession you can't enter under that program....We've enough drug users here we don't need anymore.
