82,000 prisoners in the British prison system and as it stands as of five minutes ago, there are only 70 places countrywide for additional prisoners, so according to Jack Straw, the early release program is going to have to be extended, just to cope. This of course the minister admits is going to send people out into the community ready to do crime again as they have not been in prison long enough to be rehabilitated.

There is no effort at rehabilitation because there are no staff or funding available for rehabilitation - because the overcrowded prisons are using up all their people and money resources on coping with the overcrowding.

And in any case, once out, released prisoners come back to a society which doesnt want them - they cant get a job, so often its only a matter of time before those with a penchant for burglary and other forms of theft are back again in the justice system. And then there is the drug habit, developed inside prison, to feed, if it isnt a return to crime to finance a better life than that available on benefits.

The only useful effect of prison is public protection. In such case it is a catastrophic failure of government in its primary duty to protect the public, to release early - and especially to release at all those who are dangerous violent offenders simply because a certain number of days have elapsed.

Eighty two thou, in a population of how many ? You are not putting anywhere near enough people in prison. Get with it, hire more police. If you bring them, the jailbuilders will come. You can privatize it like we did, and look at the results. We are a shining example to the world of just how much percentage of the population can be incarcerated ! You people are way behind. We have more than that in each state I think.

You can catch up though, but think of it per capita. If you locked up as many people as we do there would be nobody at all out to give the cops a reason for being.

First of all, pressure your lawmakers to make more laws, people are way too free. They need to be regulated every minute. Make French kissing illegal, they did it here and somehow it never got struck down for Constitutional issues, and you have no such impediment. Weed and those terrible drug dealers who steal from you but the bag weighs, lock all of them up. Even though they give you what you asked for for a set price they are thieves, because we and God say so, even though God put the plant here that is being sold.

Miscreants I tell ya. Also, another good one they are trying now is to lock up the victims of crimes who are, unfortunately for all of us, able to fend off the attack. Don't you realize these poor people need what you have ? How come every welfare recipient can't afford a new plasma TV. Do you realize what that does to a person ?

And hookers, lock them all up. That way we can catch more rapists. And let them out early. In fact lock up every member of CM, there would be enough of us that we could run the cellblock.

Yes, we are the greatest, most advanced country in the world. With only 82,000 in the joint, you are way behind.

And if that isn't enough, make laws so you can just lock up people you don't like, we did. Look at the results we got from Gitmo !

The USA will lead the way. Rah Rah Rah. Get with the program, we are tired of being the only one, it is time for you to have to privatize half your prison system, and put some of them in foreign countries. What the hell is the matter with you, are you slow or something ?

Come on, the US is the best, most advanced, richest and most powerful nation in the universe. That could be because we have the highest per capita incarcerated in the world.

So get with the program. It is simple, lock up the drunk drivers and pot smokers, and let the rapists and thieves loose. And you will find the bonus to society like we have, drain tax dollars, wreck the economy and society, oh yeah. The fruits are bountiful. Why do you think we are the richest country in the universe?

And we invented everything, and I mean everything. All anyone in the world ever does is copy us. We are the Supreme, We are the Hand Of God, and thus closer to God than anyone, even the Pope.

Come on over, walk in a bar, order a drink and light a cigarette. The fine is $1,500 but thirty bucks a day comes off every day you are in jail. But we have no debtor's prisons.

And don't forget to tear the tax sticker in half before taking a cigarette out of the pack and smoking it, or you might have a federal case. Perhaps I should start a rant about that. But not tearing that sticker off the pack is a crime of epic proportions.

If your hot water tank breaks in the middle of the night, don't call me and don't try to replace it yourself. If they see that old tank on your tree lawn you will be charged with a crime and your house will be inspected. If I do it for you I need thirty six licenses, and if I miss one we might have adjacent cells.

And do not turn the water main off. If the water is shutoff to a house it is subject to condemnnation.

All these people who do things for themselves need to be locked up, don't you agree ?

Sorry to rant, but it was time.
