Gort will undoubtedly be CGI.

Considering Keanu Reaves' robotic acting skills, I think he'd be a natural in that role.

I'm wondering if it'll make money. I'd be surprised if the recent remakes of War of the Worlds or Godzilla were profitable, but maybe they find their audience as date movies where teens can go, get bored, and then amuse themselves copping feels in the dark.

Gort! Klaatu barada nikto!    (Gotta get that as a ringtone)

My favorite line:

Klaatu: I am fearful when I see people substituting fear for reason.   Seems appropriate, even today....

The Day the Earth Stood Still is based off of the work of RAY BRADBURY! How dare they put that stoner in that!

Will be released this coming December with Keanu Reeves starring as Klaatu.  I have my doubts given how bad "The War of the Worlds" was but maybe it will be surprisingly good.

I'm sure it will be crap. Actually, I'm now measuring the time between worthwhile movies in years, and just about stopped watching movies entirely, even though every movie you could want can easily be downloaded for free. If I happen by a dvd I'll watch it, well most likely the first half hour. They aren't even worth not paying for. LOL.

Michael Bay is by far the most useless director of this current crop on the planet Earth. I won't even watch another one of his "Films", if you gave me a free ticket, popcorn and candy. If you throw in a steak dinner, I'd consider it.

The only movie I intend to see is the new Indiana Jones movie, and Stephen Spielberg hasn't put out a decent movie in a while either, but who knows, maybe, he'll get a second wind.

Is it? A quick Google says it's from a short story by a Harry Bates, called "Farwell to the Master".

A classic such as this should never be re made. It should be a crime in the movie making business for such pios blasphamy. Unfortantly, I'm going to find it hard not to watch it with my Sci Fi interest.

Seeing Keanu Reeves as Klaatu might be his best performance yet. After all, Klaatu is an alien from another planet who is not suppose to be familiar with every custom on Earth. He's suppose to be odd, monotone in speech, and have that slight aww about him.

Whatver damage Keanu does to the movie, I think Jennifer Connelly's performance will make up for it. I still remember her from The Labrinth and enjoyed her perfromance in Dark City. She's a sci fi fantasy pro and will make the movie worth watching.

Gort will undoubtedly be CGI.  Since it seems silly to portray the Earth as a nuclear threat to the Universe, I can't imagine what the purpose of Klaatu's visit will be but I faintly hope it will be something like, "It's time for you people to grow up and learn to live together...you're so busy quarrelling over bullshit, you are missing the fact that you're destroying the very world you need to continue to survive."

cut to the chase... from bill and ted:  "be excellent to one another".
