well, thanks for the laughs - reaches for the gin.

and yes to all of that coulourdin, which means furzey and i are doomed to two weeks of power struggles and zero respect.  makes me realise where my sub tendencies come from though, my mother has to be the sub of all subs putting up with this toxic git.

Invest in a shock collar with a remote-always worked for me.

im going to fantasise about that all night - yea, thats working for me!!

honestly, if i wrestled this creature to the floor he'd rip my throat out.  and steel, i have walked the fecker, ive walked it and walked it - im running with the vietnamese family idea - mind you we have a local chinese restaurant not far away, so if the remote controlled collar doesnt work, chop sueyed furzey with noodles on the side, ill feed him to my cat, she loathes him.

The other technique for correction that is commonly used. When the dog is doing something that needs correction, you take an empty soda pop can, fill it with some pennies, tape it and throw it at the dog. this will startle the dog and he wont like it. After you do that a few times, all you will have to do is shake the can without having to throw it. try it. It does work.

lally3 -> RE: what are the qualities of a Dominant (3/21/2008 3:53:56 PM)

thanks lucious - possibly not as fun as the remote controlled collar but arguably more humane.  ill try it out tomorrow.

Leatherist -> RE: what are the qualities of a Dominant (3/21/2008 3:55:32 PM)

Zapping them in the ear with a spray bottle filled with ice water gets thier attention as well. [:D]

lally3 -> RE: what are the qualities of a Dominant (3/21/2008 4:06:03 PM)

youre poor subs!!

one question [sm=idea.gif]does the iced water react with the electric collar and fry them, or only when you use the remote.

furzey, here boy!

Leatherist -> RE: what are the qualities of a Dominant (3/21/2008 4:06:48 PM)

unfortunately no-use one or the other.

softness -> RE: what are the qualities of a Dominant (3/21/2008 4:07:41 PM)

for me ...He needs to mean what He says ...and do what He says ...and be what He says

so many of the horror stories and disappointments come from not just poor communication, but false communication. People being dishonest, fucks up their partners

If I am giving everything that I am to someone ... I have one fundamental ... non negotiable ... standard. That He not fuck me around by saying one thing ...and doing or being another.

I like dogs as much as WC fields did.

You'll have to guess about the rest. [:D]

should have known i wouldnt get many sensible answers [sm=ofcourse.gif] tsk,

ive tried starring him down, the little bastard just stares straight back at me.

I was actually serious. you have to act like a sadist. Treat the dog like the Alfa dog would in areas of disobedience. Wrestle the dog down to the grown, growl at the dog, grasp it by the throat and pull at the scruff at the neck. You have to think like an alpha dog. I learned this after seeing my father throw my dog down a flight of stairs( I know abusive) and the dog was forever obedient with him and adoring. I also had an alpha dog who bit me. I was not able to show fear. The dog almost won that time, but I couldn't let him.

stuuuuubbbbbbborn...
the first time she decided to "put me in my place"  she got put in hers...she turned around to nip me> I grabbed her by the scruff of the neck, faced her to me nose to nose, told her with my eyes and my voice that that was never going to happen again...UNDERSTAND??????
put her down on the floor..stared down at her...she rolled over onto her back... I said  " thats right" and walked away.
shes respected me ever since as  da boss..

im prompted to ask this cos im looking after my mothers dog at the moment.  im supposed to be the alpha bitch in this situation, and im finding it really hard to be patient with the little MF.

i tried a bit of D/s with it, you know, praise when good, tell off when bad - but the creature is a hell hound with no discipline or regard for it and actually its domming me.

so, got me thinking, what are the qualities of a dominant that a submissive needs so much in their life.

Primarily, all of us are:

1 - Incredibly intelligent.

2 - Wickedly good looking.

3 - Patient as time.

4 - Extremely rich.

5 - Animals in the sack.

6 - Exceedingly modest.

Ahem.

In seriousness, the most important three things I have learned being a Dominant, with regard to actually being a positive influence on a sub, are thusly: be patient, be firm, and listen.

If you just manage those three things and nothing else, you are likely to at least do no major harm.

DesFIP -> RE: what are the qualities of a Dominant (3/21/2008 6:15:56 PM)

I seem to think it was Will Rogers who said; "When you start to think you're someone special, try ordering around someone else's dog". With that said, I was dog sitting last week and the creature ignored me and obeyed him as much as a puppy can.

Qualities that appeal to me (YMMV) confidence, patience, modesty. Don't go around boasting how great you are, show it. The ability to talk things out instead of losing your temper and punishing without finding out what's really going on.

I was thinking back to the family german shepard we had as a kid. Viscious thing, the step father never trained it-it was a biter. I've despised dogdom ever since. If I could have gotten away with frying that fucker-I would have..

On a happier note-I heard that he fobbed it off oh his father after the divorce-and it got shot for attacking the livestock. Karma is a stone cold bitch.[:D]

domahpet -> RE: what are the qualities of a Dominant (3/21/2008 9:10:28 PM)

ok. i know a dog, half timber wolf and half malamute (sp?)
6ft nose to tail, 130 lbs and never a lick of training. i freaking hate this dog,
but my kid will bite it right on the face, and when it settles down
she loves it like a baby and itll do anything she wants.
pin the fucker to the floor and show it whos boss, as often as it takes!
~domah, who doesnt really care for dogs ('cept purse dogs ;))

robertolapiedra -> RE: what are the qualities of a Dominant (3/22/2008 4:46:55 AM)

Hello lally3. The easy way is to stop feeding the dog for a day or two (small dog 1 day, big dog 2 days, mean uber real killer son of a bitch, add a day). Don't worry it will not die. You will find it is much easier to convince the dog you are the alpha when you eat and he does not. Make sure he sees you eating. For understanding dom-sub relationships, dogs are smarter than people, it will figure things out without you getting bitten following some of the advice posted here.

Qualities? feed the hunger. No hunger? Create the hunger. Have the patience to wait for hunger to set in.  Let the sub come to you. Do not overfeed afterwards.

Dogs (subs) obey strength. Dogs (subs) attack (top) weakness, it is their nature. RL.

Shit, Leatherist, you owe me a new keyboard, i just sprayed my keyboard with coffee reading this. The image of that dog with an electrified collar and you spraying it with water is priceless.

Shame you judge all dogs by that one dog, the dog i grew up with was the complete opposite, 1000% suck. I sincerely doubt she would have any idea how to bite.

thanks lucious, it does work, i just have to pick it up now and shake it and he shrinks back, its a miricle.  not interested in bonding with him, he's a pig, but at least i can stop him attacking noonoo and squeezy - two weeks and counting.
