I found a wallet with lots of personal cards in it. Belonged to a Yank by the way. I posted it to one of the banks and it was eventually returned to its rightful owner. I know I'm good but I'm not that good....I kept the money that was in it True lol

Take the necessary precautions but don't worry to heavily over it. It's more likely to fall into the hands of someone who will either turn it in or just ignore it than someone who will use it for sketchier purposes.

Hey Aileen, I don't know how they do it there. But you go down to the agency in charge of driver's licenses here and get a new one here. It's the Department of Finance and Adminstration here; I know it's the DMV in other places. They have your photo from the last driver's license along with a driver's license number. When you get a new one, they change it. They are supposed to anyway. Make sure and ask for a new number. It shouldn't be a problem. If anyone tries to use it for identity theft purposes, it usually throws up a red flag. Hopefully, y'all don't use SSN for your driver's license number. They stopped doing that here about 10 years ago. But yeah, on Monday morning go down and get a new one. It wouldn't hurt to call the state police and talk to them.

...it is where you left it. Do you know your DL number? anyhow- bring DMV on your states website. you want- "replacement". check your credit cards to see when thelast charge was made.and close them out.

Like slaveboy said...Very few states, if any, still include your social on your license. They have your license number...Big deal. It is about the same as knowing the number of your plates. Maybe they are photo shopping it to make you hotter? Are your knees in the photo?

DMV online. BTW, when you get it back in two weeks, you're supposed to turn it in to the DMV. They don't approve of you keeping the old one. You could just cut it up and toss it. Found this out when my daughter lost her license with DL and ATM card, we replaced everything and then she went into the deli she lost it at where they kept it figuring she'd come back in. Never looked in the phone book to match last name and address, sigh.

report it to your bank. Someone who looks like you can go in and make a withdrawl...provided they know where you do your banking. Sorry this happened to you..i know it is a worry.

For the most part, as long as your social security number wasn't on it, I wouldn't sweat it much. When you get a new license, make sure you tell them to indicate it in the computer that it is a replacement, and you lost your first one; you may have to fill out some extra paperwork...at least that way, law enforcement personnel will know it's been reported lost/stolen....that's usually how they are found! I"m a victim of identity theft, trust me, my license was NEVER once involved....what the scum do is go get a license with their pic, but YOUR info on it. If you're concerned about ID theft, flag your credit reports......let them know your ID (license) was taken/lost. That way, if it gets pulled, the warning is there. My flag actually tells anyone looking at it to ask for a specific type of ID card that I know ONLY I have. It also includes the police report number, so anyone trying to use my ID will (hopefully) be arrested. BTW...did you check between the seats of your car? Everything that I lose seems to end up there!

Yay! I found my fucking license in a place that I looked at least five times (the little compartment on my driver's side door). How creepy weird is that. I found it as I parked the car at the salon since I had to make an appointment to get my hair cut for my new driver's license photo which I was going to get tomorrow morning and now I no longer need to get done, but I ended up with an awesome, overdue haircut for $31, Yay!
