ORIGINAL: Level Watched this last night....... what a terrific film, by the Coen brothers, of a novel by Cormac McCarthy. Anyone else enjoy it? Think it sucked turkey legs? I watched it the night it was released on DVD. I really liked it as I do EVERY Coen brothers movie. This is one where I actually believe the movie far exceeded the book. I hardly ever think that but I can't tolerate McCarthy's writing style. I think he's a brilliant thinker but his choppy, one sentence paragraph's style drives me batty. It's like reading a pared-down script. No descriptive language, no dialogue, just short sentence after short sentence. I have tried to make myself read his novels and I've never made it though a whole one yet. Better to wait for the movies, sadly. I have had more success listening to them on audio CD. "No Country For Old Men" was read to me this way[;)]. The movie kicked tail. Josh Brolin was hot, Tommy Lee Jones shined and "Chigurh" was a scary mofo[8D]...............luci
