Just looking for some opinion on head boxes as a form of mental torture. I am thinking about constucting such a device some time in the future but I am not sure if it will have the effect I am hoping as I have never worn one before. Ideas, comments, anyone?

if you put a cover  over the face then it would be pretty mentally upsetting to be stuck in there. pretty claustrophobic.

Baffle it for breathing and pad it.

What exactly are you looking for in terms of "mental torture"... just containment, sensory deprivation, adding some kind of sensory stimulus that they can't avoid... ?

All i can say is, be careful of weight... i made a head enclosure that was almost 30 lbs (i really LIKE overkill ), and while it would be great for somebody with a headache fetish, it's kinda limiting....

Yeah  over kill but in terms of mental torture I've only ever used sesory depravation  for a sensual  tease and never torment.

I have never tried it, but as long as emphasis is placed on safety of breathing, I find the idea of head boxes very stimulating.  Interestingly enough, one could be made with the extra weight, purposefully, as to limit movement of the submissive.  In the book Perfect Victim, the kidnapper chose to create the headbox weighted for his captive.

Lucky sub!

I'm not sure I know what a head smother box is (which is odd for me).  The name alone says a lot but I would like to be sure.   Would someone mind maybe posting a link to one?

Thanks for the link.  that is certainly something I would like to try.  I would maybe want one attached to some sort of furniture or device.  Also, it looks as though an inflatable ball hood would be a lot of fun in it or maybe have have the head cage manufactured with a build in inflatable lining.

And then for mental torture, all you need are some xylophone mallets...

They were originally used on mental patients as a form of therapy, I believe.

Many of the things we use in this community were originally used for "therapy".  The others were used as torture devices.  Funny how the two came together to make us happy.
