Do you think its curious that Obama doesn't place his hand over his heart during the pledge of alliance or the national atherm..I am just curious maybe he hates America and only wish to become president to destroy it..He doesn't have the experience to handle the job...It just seems odd that someone that professes to love his country but doesn't show the respect...I am not ashamed to show or say I love my country HOW ABOUT YOU OBAMA..What is your stance that you can't show your respect by placing your hand on your heart..I am just curious ,what say all of you...bounty

I think that one's preferences in how to engage in purely symbolic behavor is one of the least interesting things about a person to me, and one of the things that I care about least when choosing a president.

He said what I was going to. I could care less where the man's hands are at that time.

And no, I am not an Obama supporter. I just find the media's points of focus assinine.

Most people these days forget to place their hand over their heart during the National Amthem.

What a silly thing to make a fuss about.

I dislike the pledge, it has been ruined. Have you ever read it in the original? There was no "under God" in it.

The pledge was written by Francis Bellamy, a native of NY and Baptist Minister.

His original Pledge read as follows: 'I pledge allegiance to my Flag and (to*) the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.' He considered placing the word, 'equality,' in his Pledge, but knew that the state superintendents of education on his committee were against equality for women and African Americans. [ * 'to' added in October, 1892. ]

Next thing you know, someone will write that someone was at some dinner where they felt the need to say grace and that particular politician didn't bow their head OR, they bowed it too much. "OMG, did you see that?!?! What do you think that means? They might be a satan worshiper!"

as long as he doesn't have his hands up the skirt of some white house worker (or down their drawers for that matter) and pays attention to what the people want and need, he might do ok.  can't be much worse than some people we've had on the job.  i want someone who's going to work at bettering this country not his bank accounts and those of his cronies.
