Interesting how you used the word "pretend" to respect everyone... As far as ethics are concerned, its primarily going to be with an interview process for indepth analyzation, to show certain case studies, it would be difficult to have quantitative research as you really can not do random sampling in large numbers for obvious reasons (the bdsm community isnt seen in public as much as a university population, elderly population etc...) Now Ive gone completely off topic from my original posting...thanks.

Have you started the sociology course yet? Are you doing a case study or Interviews? God Im so gutted that I saw this as a serious post, I got all excited for a moment then

ok so maybe analyzation wasnt the correct word, or even a word at all. But in all fairness case studies and interviews go hand in hand. Phew...luckily you guys arent my professors...:)

Yes they do you interview during a case study, but a case study is singular you do a case study you dont do quote: an interview process for indepth analyzation, to show certain case studies that makes NO sense at all as a sentence or as a form of research, you use interviews within a case study, or you use case studies to inform your research. And seriously if this is what your professors are teaching you i am glad I am not them either because I am pretty sure it would be an indication that I chose the wrong career

I wouldn't respond unless you could prove this was legitamate research. Meaning there should be a link to it through your university's site, there was a name of a professor who was overseeing the research etc. Just like research on anything else. As far as meeting people, nobody is obliged to make friends with someone they have nothing in common with. The fact that you're into wiitwd and so am I is not a commonality. Millions of people around the globe like a little slap and tickle at bedtime. I'm not obliged to be friends with them. Find a TNG group which will have more people your age and therefore more people with whom you have other things in common hopefully.

A couple of thoughts: Some folk of whatever persuasion don't like being "studied." They prefer being dealt with as people through friendly respect. Go figger. I suppose some folk are prejudiced against those younger than themselves. In my case I taught for decades. I will buy a house in a neighborhood that has folk of all ages. I'd enjoy a chance to talk with anyone who is interested in what I'm interested in. If you show interest, you'll find most people will love talking about themselves. I'm assuming some things, but I hope this helps some. ProfJoe

Well regardless of whether this is for a paper or not, I personally have run into a lot of issues with my age. I started off in the lifestyle when I was underage and didn't play with anyone I just studied and learned all of the information that I could get to. When I turned 18 I started going on sites such as this one and trying to get into the lifestyle and was turned away by many. I'm now 22 and still have problems due to my age. I've been turned away from many groups because I'm 22. I personally believe that age shouldn't matter it should be the maturity of the person in question. The line "you're as old as my daughter" gets a little old after a while.

i know this isn't exactly in line with the subject... but in terms of age, i really can't take a Dom who is younger than me seriously. i don't correspond with many subs younger than me though so my opinion might not be one worth considering in your research. ~ bonniekthln
