please note "anyone else would have been fined", "he seems to have gotten away with it". "Of" is not a verb. As for the subject matter - its not quite so easy to answer. I believe there are two main sorts of people who go into politics - those who see it as a career where they can climb aboard a gravy train to an easy life, and those who honestly and truthfully would like to change the world for the better (according to their worldview at least). The first lot get on well, because if theyre not already skilled in manipulating their way through life, they develop those skills. And all the time theyre only out for their own gain, kissing the right arse here, saying whatever suits at the time and not believing anything but that they deserve to get ahead and to hell with anyone who gets in their way, including those in their own party. The second lot get on less well, because they generally think that things like honesty, truth and integrity are important - and they stand little to no chance of surviving, let alone acquiring power, in competition with the first lot, unless they adopt some or all of the characteristics and behaviours of the first lot. "Anyone who wants to lead, is probably the last person who should" E
